Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany says he does not regret playing for Belgium during the international break against manager Manuel Pellegrini's wishes - and that it will not hurt his relationship with the Chilean.
"City and Belgium are two very important teams that have different goals and ambitions and it's just normal that stuff like this happens," Kompany said.
"My relationship with Manuel Pellegrini is good. The problem is there's two opinionated people who have strong characters with a difference in opinion on one single subject.
"But it doesn't compromise anything we do going forward. We still have the same goal."

England might have lost the second Test to Pakistan but they can boast having the number one batsman in the world in their line-up.
Joe Root is back above Steve Smith at the top of the International Cricket Council Test batting rankings.
England's prolific number four - who with 1278 has made more Test runs than anyone this year - is ahead of Smith by just three ranking points from Smith.
Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah took eight wickets in the second Test, a performance which has taken him above England seamers James Anderson and Stuart Broad into second place in the bowlers' rankings - behind only South Africa's Dale Steyn.
