    Netherlands-based telecoms firm Altice has gazumped Canal+ as the exclusive broadcaster of Premier League matches in France and Monaco.

    Altice, owned by French billionaire Patrick Drahi, will show matches from for three seasons from 2016-17 to 2018-19.

    The former Dutch under-21 winger joins on a short-term deal, although he won't be eligible to face his parent club on New Year's Day.

    Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen has admitted he has been "pretty average" this season.

    The 2007 world champion is 131 points behind team-mate Sebastian Vettel heading into the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

    Raikkonen said he had been "better than last year", when he was trounced by ex-team-mate Fernando Alonso, but "still far away from what it should be".

    Over in Monaco, IAAF president Lord Coe is preparing to give a press conference on the Russian doping scandal and his own position as an ambassador to sportswear giant Nike.

    Coe has denied that holding the two posts simultaneously is a conflict of interest, but an email has emerged suggesting that he lobbied predecessor Lamine Diack in a bid to secure the 2021 World Championships for Eugene, Oregon - close to Nike's global headquarters.

    Belgium's world number 108Ruben Bemelmans - who will face Andy Murray in the first rubber in the Davis Cup final - has revealed that his last competitive match was for a French club in the country's tennis league eight days ago.

    "You cannot compare this. I had arranged this already in the beginning of the year, otherwise I wouldn't have played," he said.

    Bemelmans is only the third highest ranked of the Belgian players and the suspicion is captain Johan Van Herck may be saving number two Steve Darcis for the doubles and a potentially decisive fifth rubber.

    "The weekend's going to be long. I think, with all the information I've had over the last two weeks practising, the way we want to attack the matches, we thought it was the best decision to put Ruben tomorrow," said Van Herck.

    Helen Ward's hat-trick helped Wales women thrash Kazakhstan 4-0 to claim a first win of their Euro 2017 qualifying campaign.

    After both sides missed chances in a goalless first half, Natasha Harding headed Wales in front five minutes after the break.

    Substitute Ward then scored twice in two minutes before sliding in for her third in the closing stages.

    Victory sees Wales leapfrog Kazakhstan and Israel into third place in Group 8.
