    Zoe Smith broke two British records in her weightlifting World Championship final to boost her prospects of selection for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

    Smith, 21, set a new 'snatch' personal best of 97kg in the -63kg weight division as she finished ninth overall.

    Her subsequent 124kg 'clean and jerk' and overall total of 221kg beat Michaela Breeze's previous GB record.

    However, GB need to secure more ranking points at the European Championships in April to secure a place in Rio.

    The 2011 winner hit breaks of 77, 64 and 75 to seize control at 3-0 on his way to a 6-1 win against Miah.

    Trump, 26, said: "I'm just happy to get through. I feel a bit ill and have not been able to practise much, but I've a three-day break now so should be fine."

    Good news for UK Sport, who have been given a 29% increase in funding in the government's autumn Spending Review.

    The agency, which looks after Britain's elite Olympic and Paralympic athletes, was fearing a cut to its budget.

    However, together with National Lottery funding, its income should now reach around £148m in the years building up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

    The government says it is committed to building "on the success of Olympic and Paralympic games at London 2012".

    "He has a hamstring problem," said Pellegrini. "We hope we don't lose him, but if for some reason he cannot play I have trust in Willy Caballero."
