    Andy Murray was up against the fastest serving man in history at the Australian Open on Thursday. But the number two seed brushed aside the challenge of Australian Sam Groth, rapidly claiming the first nine games and winning 6-0 6-4 6-1 in 90 minutes.

    Former England opener Marcus Trescothick has relinquished the captaincy at Somerset. 

    The 40-year-old has been at the helm since 2010 but has agreed to step down for the 2016 season, with Australia batsman Chris Rogers taking over the role in the County Championship and Jim Allenby leading the club in limited-overs cricket. 

    "I will be giving Chris and Jim my unconditional support, as well as focusing on scoring as many runs as I can in the season ahead," said Trescothick, who has made over 23,000 first-class runs.
