    Some more of your potential signings for your club, although not everyone is looking to the future.

    Matthew Bennett:, external Watford need youth and speed. Jerome Sinclair (Liverpool) would do us nicely. Wouldn't mind that Mario Suarez (Fiorentina) chap either.

    Ged Lynam:, external Liverpool should try to persuade him to do a Scholesy and re-sign Jamie Carragher.

    AJPS:, external Is it possible to go back in time and Chelsea to sign Michael Ballack? Oh how we dream of a powerhouse in midfield again.

    Rangers were reduced to 10 men against Morton but still managed to restore their five-point lead at the Championship summit with a 2-0 win.

    Kenny Miller (pictured) took advantage of a deflection in the box to poke the visitors in front.

    Morton gave a good account of themselves but could not score an equaliser, and Barrie McKay played a neat one-two before doubling the lead.

    Andy Halliday was shown a second yellow card for celebrating his side's second goal in front of the Morton fans.

    The main story relates to this... Hamilton Academical have told the Scottish FA they are unable to host the Scottish Cup fifth-round tie between East Kilbride and Celtic on 7 February.

    Lowland League club East Kilbride had been told by the governing body that it would have to be played at New Douglas Park as their K Park was not suitable.

    It said rules dictated that it take place at the nearest suitable stadium.

    But Premiership club Accies now say they already have a full programme of events planned for their home pitch.

    Australia coach Darren Lehmann will miss his side's three one-day internationals in New Zealand as he recovers from deep vein thrombosis.

    The 45-year-old was already sidelined for this month's three-match Twenty20 series against India following a scan on a swollen left calf last Saturday.

    He will now also miss the ODIs in New Zealand on 3, 6 and 8 February.

    Cricket Australia's chief medical officer Dr John Orchard said Lehmann was waiting for clearance to fly.

    Roberto Martinez, currently under a spot of pressure at Everton, will give a news conference at 12:00 GMT, while Man City gaffer Manuel Pellegrini is up at 13:15.

    Everton, of course, meet City in the League Cup semi-final second leg tomorrow. The Toffees lead 2-1 from the first leg.

    Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois backs team-mate Diego Costa to continue his goalscoring spree.

    Costa's winner against Arsenal on Sunday made it six goals in as many appearances in all competitions.

    "We knew that when he scored a few goals again he would go on and score more, and I think he has confidence," Courtois told the Chelsea's website.

    "He's a top striker and he will score more goals for us."

    Spanish sports daily Marca , externalhas questioned Cristiano Ronaldo's performances this season, this despite him scoring 16 times in 21 La Liga appearances and a further 11 times in six Champions League games.

    So after 27 goals in 27 club games, Marca says that the Portuguese forward is "still searching for his old self".

    Out of the Six Nations? Well, maybe not.

    Saracens and England wing Chris Ashton will be appealing his 10-week suspension, his club have confirmed.

    The 28-year-old was punished after he "allegedly made contact with the eyes" of Ulster centre Luke Marshall during their recent Champions Cup match.

    The 10-week ban would see Ashton miss England's entire Six Nations campaign.

    South Africa have won the fourth Test by 280 runs after England lost seven wickets in 82 balls, bowled out for a paltry 101.

    Not good, though remember the series had already been won.
