As for the action going on now, world number one Novak Djokovic has just started his quarter-final showdown with Kei Nishikori.
It's going with serve in the opening set, Djokovic leading 3-2.
Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova for the 18th time in a row to reach the Australian Open semi-finals.
It was close for the first hour or so but then Williams - seeded number one and chasing a 22nd Grand Slam title - saw off the fifth seeded Russian 6-4 6-1.
"When you're playing someone so great you have to come out with a lot of fire and intensity," said Williams, who hasn't lost to Sharapova in 12 years.
As for the Russian, she said, a tad gloomily: "It's motivating because she's at a different level. She makes you go back to the drawing board, not just for me, but for many other players."

Swiss great Roger Federer - a 17-time Grand Slam champion lest we forget - set up a semi-final against either top seed Novak Djokovic or Kei Nishikori after hammering Tomas Berdych.
Federer won 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 6-4 and said he was "very, very happy" with his performance.
"Tomas has caused me a lot of problems over the years, but it's been a pleasure playing against him, he's the type of player who makes you better," he said.
"I thought I played a good match. I was aggressive and had variety."

That sinking feeling...
South Africa v England (Fourth Test)
Solid start from England in the cricket. Not.
Joe Root got a let-off first ball when he was dropped off the bowling of Dane Piedt.
But any feelings of relief didn't last long...
And it's just got even worse. Root has gone too and England are reeling big-time on 58-5.
Could well be over in the next hour or so this one.
Louis van Gaal - latest gossip
Football
The Guardian reports that Louis van Gaal has been in the Netherlands for his daughter's birthday, and will hold more talks with Ed Woodward when he returns later today.

According to Sky Sports, Woodward has spoken to several United players - as well as other senior figures at Old Trafford - about Van Gaal.
However, reports The Mirror, Woodward is ready to defy public opinion and back Van Gaal to stay on as manager.
The paper claims Man United boss Louis van Gaal offered to step down as manager after the weekend defeat to Southampton, but was talked out of it by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Wonder how Reds fans feel about that?
Big day ahead
South Africa v England (Fourth Test)
It is the last day of the Test series.
England have already won - they lead 2-0 after victory in the first and third Tests - but if they want to remain unbeaten they'll have to go some today.
Alastair Cook's men are 52-3 and need a further 330 runs to secure victory - or alternatively bat out the day to secure a draw.
It's unlikely, though as long as the ultra-classy Joe Root is at the crease, you never know. The Yorkshireman is 19 not out, as is fellow batsmen James Taylor.
