Gianni Infantino’s camp has consistently maintained an air of optimism throughout the final days of this election campaign.

They were not surprised at how well he performed in round one.

What was surprising according to those close to Shaikh Salman is that pledges of support from Asia and Africa failed to materialise for the Bahraini.

The magic figure to win in round two is 104 votes. If no one achieves that then another round of voting will be needed.

We could be in for a long night...

We expect it to take about half an hour for them to count up all the ballots.

After that one of the candidates could have secured the 104 votes needed to secure the presidency...

...or if not then we're on to round three...

Are Prince Ali's 27 votes likely to be made up of anti-Salman, anti-Blatter voters? Does that put Gianni Infantino in box seat?

Let us not forget that many Fifa voters will want to back the eventual winner. Approaching the end of round two does Infantino now look like the man?

Eddie Jones is never one to duck a good headline but his comments about targeting Ireland fly-half , externalJohnny Sexton have created even more of a stir than usual.

So unsurprisingly England defence coach Paul Gustard has been asked whether his side's fly-half George Ford is up to tackling some of Ireland's powerful runners.

On Forcing two big centres in Stuart McCloskey and Robbie Henshaw, Gustard said: "The analogy of David and Goliath is perfect really. David didn't fare too bad. We've got some little tricks of our own."

England host Ireland at Twickenham in the Six Nations on Saturday at 16:50 GMT.
