When it comes to the money stakes, you don't get many richer football clubs than Manchester City and Paris St-Germain but who's stronger on the pitch?

That's a question that will get answered in the Champions League quarter-final between them, with the first leg tonight at the Parc de Princes. 

"We are not coming to Paris to draw 0-0. We'll play our usual way," said City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

"Both teams have a chance to continue to the next stage and that chance is 50-50 for each team."

How much you should read into stats is debateable but here are some in the build-up Manchester City taking on Paris St-Germain in the Champions League tonight:

• Only once (in six games) has an English club beaten PSG at the Parc des Princes in European competition. It was Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in September 2004 (3-0).    
• The last three Champions League knockout encounters between Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs have all seen the French team eliminate their English counterpart.
• Manchester City have kept fewer clean sheets than any other of the 2015-16 quarter-finalists in this season’s Champions League (1 in 8 games).
• No team has scored more goals than Manchester City in the final 15 minutes of games in the Champions League this season (6).

Paris St-Germain boss Laurent Blanc does not believe his side are favourites in the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City, but says City are "behind" the French champions in Europe.

"Manchester City had the same project a bit before Paris St-Germain," said the former Manchester United defender.

"They managed to win their domestic league, which is not an easy task, and some other titles, but maybe in Europe maybe they're a bit behind us."

He added: "Maybe England is more competitive but I don't see many English teams in the semi-finals of the European competitions over the last five or six years.

"Maybe they have reached a further level in terms of fatigue."

Wolfsburg are in their first Champions League quarter-final and will host Real Madrid in the first leg of their last eight tie.

The German club's coach Dieter Hecking says "motivation won't be a problem" for his side.'

"We have a big chance to perform on a great stage. Nobody thought we could get this far," he said.

"Real Madrid have a great squad with top-class players. They are one of the favourites for the title and one of the top clubs in Europe.

"But we will try to annoy them and I think my team can do that."

Real Madrid are going into their Champions Leaue tie at Wolfsburg on a high after a win over arch rivals Barcelona in La Liga last weekend.

However, Real coach Zinedine Zidane says his side will treat the quarter-final first leg in Germany "like a final".

"We cannot relax. We are not untouchable and Wolfsburg are able to hurt us," said Zidane.

"Wolfsburg have fought hard and deserve to be here. It will be a tough match but we are well prepared."

Olympic, world and European champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning will lead a 51-strong British team at May's European Rowing Championships.

The pair, who are unbeaten since 2011, are joined by a further 15 Olympic medallists for the event in Germany.

Six, including double Olympic men's four champions Pete Reed and Andrew T Hodge, will line up in the eight.

Alex Gregory is restored to the four with fellow world champions Mo Sbihi, George Nash and Constantine Louloudis.

"Everything we do aims towards the Olympics and now finally we are starting to form the crews that will make up the team for Rio," said Gregory.

By this time on Thursday the early stages of the first round of the Masters will be under way as Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy seeks to complete the career grand slam.   

The 26-year-old has been grouped with Germany's Martin Kaymer and American Bill Haas for the first two rounds in Augusta.

McIlroy, ranked third in the world, will tee off at 19:01 BST on Thursday and 16:05 BST on Friday, while world number one Jason Day is grouped with Matt Kuchar and Ernie Els (18:06 and 14:59).

Defending champion and world number two Jordan Spieth (14:48 and 17:55) tees off alongside England's Paul Casey and American amateur Bryson DeChambeau.

Last year's runner-up Justin Rose plays alongside Welshman Jamie Donaldson and Daniel Berger (15:54 and 18:50).

The Golden State Warriors must win their four remaining regular-season matches to make NBA history after suffering a surprise defeat on Tuesday.

The Warriors are chasing the Chicago Bulls' record of 72 regular-season wins but blew a 17-point lead to lose 124-117 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Western Conference leaders have 69 wins, with two games against second-placed San Antonio Spurs to come.

The Chicago Bulls side of 1995-96, who set the record with Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen in their line-up, are also the only team to have recorded 70 or more regular-season wins.

Fresh from leading West Indies to victory over England in the World Twenty20 final in India, captain Darren Sammy has been honoured again - this time closer to home.

The 32-year-old's success has been recognised in his native St Lucia, where the Carribean island's biggest cricket ground now bears his name.

What used to be the Beausejour Cricket Ground is now the Darren Sammy National Cricket Ground, with a stand to be dedicated to West Indies opener Johnson Charles, also a St Lucian.

The Windies beat England in a thrilling finale in Kolkata on Sunday, becoming the first team to be crowned World T20 champions twice as Carlos Braithwaite scored consecutive sixes from the first four balls of the final over for victory.

Steve Cotterill was not sounded out about making a return as Nottingham Forest boss in a meeting with chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, insists the club's ambassador John McGovern.

Cotterill, sacked within 48 hours of Al Hasawi's takeover in July 2012, was photographed speaking to the club owner before Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Reading.

Paul Williams is in charge of Forest until the end of the season.

"Nothing was gauged or organised. It was a chance meeting," said McGovern.

Yeovil Town manager Darren Way has signed a new three-year-deal, after lifting the club clear of the League Two drop zone.

The new Women's Cricket Super League can emulate the success of Australia's Big Bash competition, according to England captain Charlotte Edwards.

The 36-year-old, who played for Perth Scorchers down under, has been named in the Southern Vipers squad, which will be based at Hampshire's Ageas Bowl.

"Having been out in the Big Bash you realise how big an impact you can have. We just need the fans to come out and see what a great product it is," she told BBC Sport.

National road race champion Peter Kennaugh will take part in this weekend's inaugural Manx International Grand Prix, the first professional event on his home island since 2003.

Douglas-born Kennaugh, 26, will represent Team Sky, with more than 140 riders, both men and women, set to compete on the Isle of Man TT circuit.

Last year Kennaugh broke Chris Boardman's 22-year-old record for cycling a lap of the TT course in one hour 23 minutes and 48 seconds.
