Horse racing - Racing from Wednesday in Great Britain suspended until end of April. Kentucky Derby rescheduled.

MMA - Next three fights postponed.

Snooker - World Snooker postpones the Coral Tour Championship.

Speedway - British speedway season suspended.

Surfing - World Surf League cancels or postpones all events until at least the end of May.

Boxing - All British boxing events cancelled until the start of April. Anthony Joshua fight moved to July.

Darts - PDC Development Tour events and Players Championship weekend postponed.

Gymnastics - Women's European Championships and men's event in Baku cancelled.

Trampoline - European Trampoline Championships called off.

Manchester United have responded to Uefa's decision to postpone Euro 2020.

"We note the decision to postpone Uefa Euro 2020 to hopefully allow domestic and European competitions to come to a conclusion as a priority.

"Clearly, coronavirus has created an unprecedented set of circumstances and the health and well-being of fans, players and staff has to come first.

"We will continue to play an active role in discussions through Uefa, the ECA and the Premier League and we will monitor developments closely."

The ECB are having a full planning day on Thursday to look at possible rescheduling for the cricket summer.

They announced last week that all options were being looked at including postponements and playing games behind closed doors.

It is likely that any decisions made would need to be escalated to the ECB board so we don’t expect any kind of announcement until the end of this week at the earliest.

The County Championship season is scheduled to start on the 12th April, but counties are due to play fixtures from the 2nd April in preparation.

The French Open at Roland Garros, originally scheduled to begin on 20 May, has been postponed until the autumn because of coronavirus concerns.

The tournament will now run from 20 September to 4 October.

Ireland's Sonia O'Sullivan believes postponing the Olympics until next year could be the "fairest" response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The former 5,000m Olympic silver medallist said it would be a viable option given the uncertainty over the duration of the current health crisis.

"The fairest way might be to have the Olympics in 2021," O'Sullivan said on RTE Radio's Morning Ireland programme.

"Nobody wins if everything is called off, but already everybody is losing."

In his statement about Euro 2020's postponement, Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin said his Fifa counterpart, Gianni Infantino, indicated the organisation will do "whatever is required to make this new calendar work."

This suggests the newly expanded Club World Cup, scheduled for June 2021 in China, may now be moved to accommodate Euro 2021.

Churchill Downs Racecourse chief executive Bill Carstanjen on rescheduling the Kentucky Derby from 2 May to 5 September: "As the situation evolved, we steadily made all necessary operational adjustments to provide the safest experience and environment. The most recent developments have led us to make some very difficult, but we believe, necessary decisions and our hearts are with those who have been or continue to be affected by this pandemic.

"Our team is united in our commitment to holding the very best Kentucky Derby ever and certainly the most unique in any of our lifetimes. While we are always respectful of the time-honored traditions of the Kentucky Derby, our company’s true legacy is one of resilience, the embracing of change and unshakeable resolve."

Host nation Cameroon has asked the Confederation of African Football (Caf) to postpone next month's African Nations Championship (CHAN) because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The competition for African players based in their own leagues had been set to run between 4-25 April.

The president of CHAN's local organising committee believes a postponement would be "the most sane decision".

"Human life hasn't got a price," said Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.

"This is a tournament many African football lovers look forward to but the severity of the current health crisis makes it tough for us to host now."

Uefa said decisions on dates for other Uefa competitions in men's and women's football - including the Women's Euro 2021 Championship - will be taken in due course.

The Belgian women's national team appear to have confirmed reports it has been postponed.

McLaren driver Carlos Sainz has put himself in quarantine at home in Spain after one of his team’s employees tested positive for coronavirus at the abandoned Australian Grand Prix.

Sainz said in a video on Twitter that this had been required by all McLaren personnel who went to Melbourne, where the race was cancelled last Friday.

He said: "I am a bit bored. I guess everyone who is doing this quarantine is a bit bored. But at the same time I am trying to do some sport and keep myself busy with the things I would never do because I am doing so much travelling.”

He said he wanted to send “good vibes” and “a big hug” to the 14 McLaren team members who remained in quarantine in Australia, where they are being supported by racing director Andrea Stella.

“I am sure we will leave this quarantine as soon as possible and then we will get back to business and as soon as this virus is over we will back to racing,” Sainz added. “I cannot wait. I miss racing and travelling around the world with my team but it is something that will pass and until then better stay at home and stay in quarantine and keep ourselves busy.”

Sky Sports will not be charging pubs and other venues for their subscription to sports channels from this month until a live schedule returns.

No word yet on whether customers at home will receive any discounts etc.

Support is growing amongst Championship clubs in their wish to finish the season after the coronavirus outbreak.

All 24 Championship clubs are holding a video conference later this afternoon.

It follows a conference call yesterday where the top 6 clubs - Leeds United, West Brom, Fulham, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston North End - were all aligned in their desire to finish the season.

At least another 3 clubs have backed that move and the meeting today is designed to gauge support and make a clear stance against those that would want the season to be declared null and void.

The EFL board are due to meet on Wednesday while the Premier League clubs are due to hold a conference meeting on Thursday.

National League club Barnet have placed all non-playing staff on notice in "emergency measures to preserve the club" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Following ongoing talks, the International Olympic Committee have released this information, external:

"The IOC remains fully committed to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and with more than four months to go before, there is no need for any drastic decisions at this stage; and any speculation at this moment would be counter-productive.

"The IOC encourages all athletes to continue to prepare for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as best they can."

The European Club Association is the latest organisation to back Uefa's decision to postpone Euro 2020 and says it will take an active part in talks over the reorganisation of the domestic calendar.

"This decision has been taken following deep and regular engagement between the leadership of Uefa, ECA and other stakeholders, and is driven with the sole aim of minimising the negative impact of the COVID-19 virus on European football and on society as a whole," read a statement.

"In the days and weeks ahead, ECA will participate actively and with full focus and commitment in the working group co-ordinated by Uefa, which has been mandated to develop and shape the practicalities around managing the calendar to maximise the chances of concluding the remaining club games of the 2019/20 season and tackle the wider consequences of COVID-19 on the game."

Today's announcement has created space in the fixture calendar.

Playing twice a week, about two months will be needed to complete the European fixture calendar, which means restarting the season by the beginning of May.

You could - in theory - play matches simultaneously in different competitions if it was demanded, or you could scrap the end of June idea and push the season further back. Of course, the season could still be scrapped altogether.

This is now in the hands of a working group comprising of representatives of UEFA, the European Clubs' Association and the European Leagues.

Earlier today, The Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) in co-operation with UK Athletics suspended all planned in-person and face-to-face organised athletics activity until the end of April.

I am told that this does not apply to world class programme athletes, who are still being supported to train. They are still preparing as normally as possible for Tokyo 2020.

This new advice from the home countries and UKA was, I am told, more about grassroots and athletics clubs competitions and club nights.

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) have backed Uefa's decision to postpone Euro 2020.

The Republic of Ireland are scheduled to play Slovakia in the play-offs, while Dublin's Aviva Stadium is one of the host venues.

“Uefa has made the right decision today in the interests of the health and well-being of football players, fans and staff alike," said FAI Interim chief executive Gary Owens.

“We support this decision and we look forward to working with all our stakeholders on reorganising Uefa Euro 2021 for Dublin next year. We would like to thank all our partners – the government, Dublin City Council, Aviva Stadium and all the agencies and partners who have worked really well with us on the Uefa Euro 2020 project for the last few years.

“We have agreed with these partners that we will now begin to plan together for the four Uefa Euro 2021 games here next year which will be the centenary year of the FAI.”

FAI President Gerry McAnaney added: “Irish football will return and we have much to look forward to now in the coming months and in welcoming Europe to Dublin in our Centenary year of 2021.”

Championship clubs will hold a conference call later today for all 24 clubs to discuss the coronavirus crisis.

Like the Premier League, the EFL have put matches on hold until 4 April, although that looks certain to be extended.

The Championship league season is due to end on 2 May, followed by play-offs.

It is understood the clubs will discuss what happens to the remainder of the season, in addition to Uefa’s statement following their meeting with the European clubs and leagues.

There will be a meeting of the EFL Board on Wednesday.
