    T33-34 100m

    All about Kare Adenegan this.

At last summer’s Anniversary Games, Adenagan, then 17, thrashed her idol Hannah Cockroft and shattered her T34 world record by nearly half a second.

At August’s European Championships she proved it was no fluke by beating Cockroft (not racing in London this weekend) to gold. It was quite a few months for Adenagan, who had been inspired to take up the sport by watching the likes of Cockroft at London 2012.

Let's see what she can do against an all-British field.

  3. 'Missed opportunity for Zharnel'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Men's 100m

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

It was a still a really good race and it's no shame being beaten by Simbine.

But it was a missed opportunity because Zharnel Hughes had a little stumble and wasn't as fast over the first 50m.

It was impressive how he got back into it after making a mistake. He didn't panic.

I think when he looks back at the race he will be happy where he is in the season and for the World Championships in Doha.

  4. 'Hughes under more pressure in final'published at 15:59 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Men's 100m

    Colin Jackson
Two-time world 110m hurdles champion on BBC TV

That's a great performance but he might be a little bit frustrated knowing his potential.

It's exciting to know he's truly world class but we are just waiting for that performance to happen.

He was under a bit more pressure in the final and could see the quality all around him. He wasn't probably as relaxed as he might have wanted to be and he was searching for pace a little bit.

  5. 'I am quite happy'published at 15:59 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Akani Simbine

Akani Simbine speaking to BBC Sport: "I was chasing Zharnel really. I knew I had to get in front of him. I have a lot of respect for him, we always bring the best out of each other and it is great. I am excited for the rest of the season.

Zharnel Hughes: "I am quite happy. I messed up the race a little, I stumbled out the blocks, but I came through without an injury and I am happy. It is always a pleasure racing this man."

  6. Gemili sixthpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Men's 100m

Yohan Blake was third in 9.97 seconds, with Japan's Yuki Koike fourth in 9.98 and Andre de Grasse fifth in 9.99.

Adam Gemili goes faster than he did in the heat with a run of 10.04 in sixth. Good news for him.

It will be very interesting to see if Zharnel Hughes can run anything like he did in the heats because if he does we could see something very special.

Right to the final of the men's 100m final.

Britain's Zharnel Hughes was fastest through the heats with a leisurely 9.96.

He will have significant company here though in the shape of Olympic silver medalist Andre De Grasse, Commonwealth champion Akani Simbine and the second-fastest man of all time Yohan Blake.

Great Britain's Adam Gemili goes in lane nine.

  10. 'It went according to plan'published at 15:49 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Muir wins 1500m

Laura Muir speaks to BBC Sport: "It was great. I could hear them on the bell and it was great to win like I did in 2016. It went according to plan. It was breezy so I thought I would sit and use my kick. The field is world class, even without Faith Kipyegon and Sifan Hassan."

  11. 'Impressive last lap'published at 15:48 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Steve Cram

This was about rehearsing what will happen in the World Championships when it comes down to the last 400m.

That was a pretty impressive performance over the last lap, particularly over the last 300m.

Laura Muir was bracing herself for an almighty battle with world champion Faith Kipyegon, but the Kenyan, who has only just back from maternity leave, has pulled out with an abductor injury.

In Kipyegon's absence, German Konstanze Klosterhalfen and Kenyan frontrunner Gudaf Tsegay will be threats. As will Moroccan Rababe Arafi who is the fifth fastest woman in the world this year.
