  1. Round four - Khomitsky wins by Knockoutpublished at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Adam Etches is out. Centre of the ring, the medics rush in creating a worrying scene. What a shot by Khomitsky. No one, Adam Etches particularly, saw that one coming.

It stems from the home fighter leaning forward to land a left jab, Khomitsky takes a step back to get out of range and springs forward with the right to catch the 24-year-old flush in the face. An absolute hammer. A hammer soaked in cement and covered in nails.

  2. Round four - Knockoutpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Etches paws his opponent onto the ropes, then he gets the measuring tape out, takes a glance, thinks and bang, a chopping right hand early in the round.

Really good stuff, experience beyond his years and WOW... counter punch, Etches is down...

  3. Undercard actionpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

It was a good night's work for Liverpool-based super-featherweight Stephen Smith as he recorded a comfortable points win against Poland's Jacek Wylezol.

Smith, 29, who has held British belts at featherweight and super-featherweight, won every round and floored his opponent with a left hook to the body in the third on his way to a 60-53 victory in their six-round contest.

This was Smith's first fight in eight months and the victory means he has now won 21 of his 22 bouts.

"Good six rounds under my belt, good to be back in there after so long out," tweeted Smith.

Look at the names on the last entry that Khomitsky has danced with. Far from the bar room brawler young talents often face to build their career.

Left, right, left from the Belarus man but Etches ducks and weaves to land. Back comes Khomitsky, this pair are trading nicely, it's a see-saw round but who gets the better?

Jab, jab, left handed Etches, his defence gets punctured on times but nothing painful. Now he backs his opponent up, right-upper cut, whack. That one hurt. The Sheffield man takes the round impressively.

  6. Etches is being foolish...published at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

How can I put this nicely? Sergey Khomitsky looks hard. He looks like the kind of villain you see in a Jason Bourne film.

And the 40-year-old Belarus national has proven his durability in recent years, taking Britain's Martin Murray (who fought Gennady Golovkin last time out) to points twice, most recently in December 2013.

"It's very easy to dream about knocking me out, but very difficult to do," said Khomitsky. "As soon as the bell rings, Etches will realise he's let his imagination get the better of him."

Khomitsky's career record is 29 wins, 11 losses, three draws.

  7. Round Twopublished at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Adam Etches sold around 1,200 tickets off his own back tonight, not bad for a young fighter on the undercard by any means. He is fancied to go a long way but make no mistake this is a test.

Khomitsky is a wise owl and he comes game. His variation is impressive so far as he looks to shock his younger opponent. The pair get close in the second round, fighting on the inside and Etches gets the better of the exchange, backs the travelling fighter up well onto the ropes. A confidence boost in round two for the Brit. I make that one apiece.

  8. Odds-on Kellpublished at 21:48 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Kell Brook looked the picture of everything that is an athlete when he weighed in on Friday. Lean, defined, his stature was far more impressive than Jo Jo Dan's.

Dan may be the IBF's number one rank behind title-holder Brook but he is far from fancied tonight. You have to place £14 on Brook to win £1.

With Kell Brook fighting later on after being stabbed last year, we're asking for the most remarkable sporting comebacks.

Nathan:, external The greatest comeback has to be Monica Seles.

Seles won the Australian Open in 1996, she was stabbed in 1993 and returned to the Tour in 1995.

Andrew Priestley:, external Bernard Hopkins. 50-years-old and he keeps on coming back for more. The man is incredible.

  10. Round Onepublished at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Etches , with 'ETCH' across his white trunks, leads with the left early on, no use of the right hand at all as he feels his way in. His opponent is more varied, loosening up with a few rights, none landing.

Both are orthodox fighters, looking to power up that right hand and Khomitsky does first, stinging the home favourite.

Etches has a huge tattoo on his back. He looks for openings but with 40 years behind him, the man stood opposite him is not going to give much away at this stage. Closed shop son, try harder.

  11. Postpublished at 21:43 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Sergey Khomitsky stands, clapping his black gloves together. He has an artery visible on his hairless head. He looks angry. Just the 16 years older than his opponent.

The Sheffield crowd are up and cheering for Etches, one of their own after all. He strips down, tattoos aplenty. White gloves, a youthful looking face but make no mistake, the man is a weapon.

  12. Who is Adam Etches?published at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

The 24-year-old middleweight has torn up opponents in his career so far, knocking out 15 of the 18 men he has faced, beating every one of them.

He is another Sheffield lad, hated school, spent two years working as a doorman in the city and started boxing in his teens after excelling in martial arts.

"My weight class is booming," he told The Telegraph. "There are plenty of top class kids out there -good boxers who can fight. There is a brilliant mix. Young and old, ones on their way up, ones on their way down. For me, it's nice to be slap bang in the middle of it. It's nice to be mentioned among the others."

Am I the only one thinking he does not look old enough to have been a doorman?

  13. Jump Around...published at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

It's ring walk time. What does Adam 'The Bomber' Etches roll into the arena too?

Pack it up, pack it in

    Let me begin

    I came to win

    Battle me that's a sin

It's 'Jump Around' by House of Pain. Apt. He dishes it out.

  14. 'I'm not retiring as the second-best in my family'published at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

There's nothing like family rivalry to motivate you. And new European super-bantamweight champion Gavin McDonnell says he is desperate to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jamie, the WBA world bantamweight title holder.

"This has been five years in the making," said Gavin. "My brother has inspired me, I saw him do it and it has taken me five years, a lot of hard work and I've finally got there.

"I'm 100% convinced I can go on to win a world title. I'm not going to retire until I've got as many titles as Jamie. I'm not retiring as the second-best in my family."

Jamie added: "I'm absolutely proud of Gavin. He is going to go all the way."

Gavin McDonnell, whose twin brother Jamie is the WBA world bantamweight champion, is the new European super-bantamweight title holder after beating talented Ukrainian Oleksander Yegorov on points.

McDonnell, 28, won many of the early rounds but had to survive late pressure from his opponent, who suffered the first loss of his career.

Nevertheless, the English fighter got the verdict by 117-11, 118-110 and 118-109 margins.

  17. Jo Jo the big surprisepublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

"If they overlook us they will be surprised, if they don't they will be surprised anyway." Those were the words of Jo Jo Dan's trainer at the pre-fight news conference.

Born in Giurgiu, Romania, Dan's full name is Ionut Dan Ion and he is based in Canada, where 23 of his 34 fights have taken place.

  18. Hatton predicts Brook winpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

Former world champion Ricky Hatton on Kell Brook's contest: "A lot of people might not know much about his opponent, but you don't get to be a mandatory challenger without being a world class fighter and he'll give his all. That said, I think Kell will shine and then move on to those big fights he's chasing for later in the year."

  19. Anticipation aplenty in Sheffield...published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2015

The atmosphere is building nicely in Sheffield. A relatively meek start to the undercard made the arena feel cave-like but it is warming up nicely now as Jamie McDonnell and Oleksander Yegorov go at it.

You get the feeling it will be pumped by Brook time. Recognisable faces puncture the mass of heads ringside. Father & son Barry and Eddie Hearn - the Godfathers of boxing - Scott Quigg, Ricky Burns and Tony Bellew, who will be doing some punditry with BBC Radio 5 live shortly. Coverage on the station will roll from 22:00 GMT.

Boxing rarely goes to plan but if it does tonight then expect Kell Brook to walk to the ring at 22:15 GMT. There have been rumours he has a big entrance planned.

Brook normally enters to the Kanye West hit 'All of the lights'. Will this change? You've got to love those moments where boxing goes a bit WWE.

Before Brook comes Adam Etches v Sergey Khomitsky. There could be hope on offer of us running to time as unbeaten Etches does not normally hang around and has 15 KOs in 18 fights.
