Twenty fights, 13 knockouts. Otto Wallin is bouncing around, hardly able to stay still in his corner. At 6ft 5in, he won't have been the smaller man too many times, but is tonight against the 6ft 9in Fury.

Fury has fought 29 times, 28 wins and that one draw against Wilder. Twenty of those wins have come inside the distance.

Our referee tonight is Tony Weeks of America.

On my way to the arena I bumped into a marriage proposal.

Fury stands on a parade-float chariot-like vehicle, on a raised platform waving to the crowd. He's from Manchester, not Mexico City, but it does not appear that way now.

Looking to take away some Andy Ruiz fans if the pair ever meet?

“Fury’s on fire,” goes the ringwalk tune. A remix with Mexican music. They love it in here.

    Patrick KillianImage source, .

This is artist Patrick Killian - over from South Wales. He gets to fight after fight and has been showcasing more of his fine work this week.

Tyson Fury and Bob Arum were kind enough to sign a few prints of the original painting you see here and some are now for sale in the sporting memorabilia shop they have at the MGM Grand. Word is they are going for over $2,000.

An omen maybe - the last time I saw Patrick was a few hours before Andy Ruiz Jr stunned Anthony Joshua. Surely we won’t see a similar upset?

Tyson Fury has gone full Mexican mode. As he strolls backstage, heading to the arena. A huge sombrero on, a Mexican flag as his outfit.

It is claimed that Fury v Wilder II will be on 22nd February. Not if Fury loses tonight though.

It looks like Tyson Fury’s Apollo Creed shorts may be finding their way to a gym near you as you can now buy the rascals.

Think I’ll buy some for simple lounge wear. Maybe not a signed set like these as I can’t justify $250 on shorts I’ll sit watching TV in.

These were the shorts he wore against Tom Schwarz, today it's the Mexican flag and sombrero for the Briton.

Here comes Otto Wallin. It was a life-changing night for Andy Ruiz when he stunned the boxing world and beat Anthony Joshua.

Wallin has a similar opportunity now.

Oasis blasts at the T-Mobile. It’s a bit of What’s the Story Morning Glory.

A touch of Manchester in Las Vegas for Manchester-born Fury. Ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr cares little as he leans on the ropes, in a world of his own, mumbling his lines to himself before his big main event moment.

I’d estimate around 8,000 or the 20,000 in here are full. Selling out in the US is tough, especially when Drake, Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris are playing shows on the same night.

Tyson Fury will do well to drag 10,000 in tonight as his opponent has drawn criticism and there are events including a Calvin Harris DJ set and a Drake concert happening here tonight.

It’s not for the want of trying as he’s marketed this hard and the team around him have ensured his face is on billboards all the way up the famous Nevada strip.

Think about it - to share billboards with everyone from Eric Clapton to Drake is not a bad achievement for a kid who first boxed competitively in his dad’s shorts at an army barracks.

A big focus will be on how many seats are left in this arena tonight. Expect critics in the boxing world if it’s a small crowd.

Healthy noise at the T-Mobile but not raucous just yet. Hollywood star Vince Vaughn is here, while there are countless boxing faces ringside.

Andre Ward and David Haye both look too cool for school.

The question is can Tyson Fury do enough to get this place rocking like Iron Maiden rocked the MGM Grand last night.

Spend enough time with Fury and he does feel like a one-man rock band.

  16. Losing the weight of a Lomachenkopublished at 04:57 British Summer Time 15 September 2019

Fury's remarkable weight loss transformation points to his ongoing dedication and his mark of 254lbs is the lightest he has been since he faced Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

The Briton's physique is unrecognisable from two years ago, when he weighed around 28st following well-publicised mental health struggles. He is more than half a stone lighter than last time out and from his peak, has now lost the equivalent in weight of a Vasyl Lomachenko or close to a prime Floyd Mayweather.

"I don't underestimate anybody, I will respect everyone," said Fury, pictured below with trainer Ben Davison.

"I will train for a man like he has 20 knockouts in a row. The tall southpaw is always a challenge but I have never met a challenge I couldn't defeat or a mountain I couldn't climb - he will be no exception. Everybody is a nobody until they get a big break.

"Hopefully we go for a beer afterwards."

If you’ve never been to Las Vegas, let me try and explain the sheer size of the MGM Grand, where fightweek events have been held and where Otto Wallin is staying.

You need these maps which are helpfully dotted around the ground floor. There’s a casino bigger than the village I probably live in, there are dozens and dozens of restaurants, several theatres, a bowling alley, a driving range, countless pools, dozens of bars, fast food joints, coffee shops, its own monorail, and, crucially, no windows. When you’re in you’re in and you’ll forget the outside world exists.

In the image below, people from all walks of life watch and bet on live sports, while a few feet away others pour into the hotel’s night club.

Something for everyone - if indeed you can find your way around.

    Who is the best heavyweight?

AJT5792: Wilder or Fury....ask again in an hour! Next years Feb fight should settle it. AJ has had a huge wobble, perhaps there is more behind it.....we shall see in Dec. Similar result would propel Ruiz into a three-man show down over the next 18 months, AJ wins then he should get Fury v Wilder.

Duke Ian: Fury.. Uses both styles and has tremendous ring use. Can dance around. Swings and ducks blows like a lightweight. All round boxing technical abilities in close and distance spurring. For such a big man he has great movement.

Meet Ricardo and Cynthia, in Las Vegas for a few days from Mexico City.

As you may have seen this week, Tyson Fury has tapped into the fact it’s a Mexican holiday and loads of groups from the country descend on Vegas.

And below, the Bricker family, Wyatt, Tony, Nathan and Raina. They are here from just around the corner and know a bit about Fury.

Tony simply says: “He’s pretty vocal.”

    You’re not wrong there sir.
