Sharp, crisp punches, well timed and beautiful body shots.
Fantastic left hooks from Ogawa and great defensive work from Cordina.
The quality and intensity was brilliant in that first round, powerful and every punch meant.

Round 1
A good left hand to the body from Cordina, followed by a right that landed to the head.
Both men are trying to work the jab, a left hook lands though from Ogawa as part of a four-punch combination.
We're seeing plenty of action in the opening three minutes and it's extremely competitive in the first round. Both men will have taken some encouragement from that round. A great start to this bout.

And now here comes the champion Kenichi Ogawa. He walks in with the IBF belt, will he walk out with it later on?

A vocal home crowd like tonight can help you in the dark times when you need to fire through the rounds when you don't have it your own way.
Every time Joe lands a shot the crowd will go wild and Joe needs to keep the focus.

Thunderous ovation for Joe Cordina. He looks like a man on a mission by the way.
I've seen nervous ring walks and this isn't one. Tom Jones is blasting out in Cardiff and Cordina looks like a star.

Joe is unbelievable but he’s always looked unbelievable.
People don’t come much more experienced than Joe, he’s a power fighter, he really is the Welsh Wizard and I expect him to cast a spell on Ogawa tonight.
He gets this done by any means necessary tonight.
Joe Cordina has not fought in Wales since a win over Sean Dodd in August 2018 gave him the Commonwealth title.

Joe has the ability to make fighters miss and make you pay, to dance around at close range.
Ogawa won't be deterred so Joe will have to get it right to earn the respect of Ogawa.
How Joe has got here is the movement, the boxing IQ, he can't make a mistake.
If he makes one mistake it could be curtains for him.

Say what you will about Neil Diamond - I love the guy - but nothing gets a boxing crowd going like Sweet Caroline.
IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards expects Joe Cordina to make a 'serious statement' tonight.

It's not a night of boxing without Sweet Caroline getting a karaoke outing and the Cardiff fans are loving it.
There's your five-minute warning.
