  1. Winning back belts 'no big deal', says Joshuapublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

Anthony Joshua has been in this position before - in Saudi Arabia trying to gain some revenge after a loss - and managed to win against Andy Ruiz in Diriyah six months after his first professional defeat back in 2019.

He seems pretty relaxed about today's task, as you can see in this video below.

The clash is taking place at King Abdullah Sports City. A quick search and you could be forgiven for thinking it is this impressive 62,241 capacity stadium.

Nope – we’re in the adjacent indoor sports arena. While it is still mightily impressive, it caters for 12,000 fans.

A far cry from the 60,000 fans who packed out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September.

A rematch of this magnitude could and should be a stadium fight.

  4. 'Both got something to prove'published at 21:23 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

In the build-up, we'll have some predictions from big names from the boxing world and here's the first lot...

Welterweight Conor Benn: "I might have to sit on the fence. You'd think in your head AJ should have the tools to beat him up, literally beat him up. But that's a mentality thing. He's working with Robert Garcia, but he's never worked with a heavyweight before. There's lots of question marks over him. But I will back AJ."

BBC 5 Live Boxing analyst Richie Woodhall: "I think Usyk will probably run out a winner on points. I do think Josh can win the fight. The only way Josh wins the fight is he stops him or knocks him out."

Boxing trainer Buddy McGirt: "They've both got something to prove. It's a toss-up. If I had a winner I'd let you know."

Super-middleweight Callum Smith: "I think it's a completely different fight to the first time round. I think we'll get a different Joshua, but I think we'll get a different Usyk as well. It's whoever's gameplan comes off. I think this one will be a little bit more exciting - I think Joshua will go for him a little bit more."

  8. 'Some knockout'published at 21:15 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

That was some knockout from Callum Smith. He didn't have it all his own way, but proves he can mix it at light heavyweight against a live opponent.

It had been a tame atmosphere for the undercard, but the 12,000 seater venue is starting to fill up. Intrigued to hear what the Saudi rendition of Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline will sound like.

  10. 'I'm in the game to be a two-weight world champion'published at 21:13 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

We've just seen Callum Smith, a former WBA super-middleweight champion, continue his pursuit of becoming a two-weight world title holder with a beautiful fourth-round knockout of Mathieu Bauderlique.

Smith said: "A good performance, another good knockout win here and puts me in line for a world title next time so a good night.

"He engaged, caught me a few times but we move on, happy with the finish. It was a good shot, a good finish. He came out game, it was a bit of a shootout but I was confident of my ability.

"I want a world title, that's what I'm in the game for - to be a two-weight world champion. I just want to keep winning and at some stage I will become a world champion."

  13. Expect the unexpectedpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 20 August 2022

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport at King Abdullah Sports City Arena, Jeddah

So here we are – 330 days after Oleksandr Usyk outclassed Anthony Joshua to become unified heavyweight champion of the world, the two superstars meet again.

Where do we start? Forget world titles; both men have an incredible amount riding on this fight.

Usyk has an undefeated record to protect and belts to defend but, more significantly, he is looking to bring some much-needed joy to Ukraine.

For Joshua, his reputation, legacy – some may even say career – is on the line.

The champion is the favourite. But this is heavyweight boxing, ladies and gents. Expect the unexpected.

Eleven months ago, at a packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Britain's Anthony Joshua had his world heavyweight titles ripped out of his grasp after a superb performance from Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk.

Now the pair meet again, this time in Saudi Arabia, with Joshua aiming to become a three-time world champion.
