    Round 5

An uppercut from Fury with a minute left in the fifth, but it doesn't make a full connection and Ngannou would've been in trouble if it had.

A couple of heavy right hand shots from Fury also land.

We're at the halfway point (remember, it's a 10-rounder, not a 12-rounder). Ngannou 15 minutes away from a monumental upset.

Round five. Tyson Fury being asked questions that no-one expected.

Francis Ngannou doing better than anyone could have guessed. But we're only into round five of 10. There's still a long way to go and you'd be foolish to write Fury off.

    Fury v Ngannou

    Carl Frampton
Former world champion on TNT Sports

I can't believe what I'm watching. I have Francis five rounds up already. Francis looks like he's too strong for Tyson. He's just starting to tire a little bit though. There's a lot of concern in that corner and in Fury's face.

I think we need to hang our heads in shame for the little credit we gave to Ngannou. He is boxing out of his skin.

    Round 4

Ngannou, buoyed by knocking his opponent down in the previous round, has Fury pinned in the corner briefly in the fourth.

But he can't capitalise on that and Fury is starting to let the shots fly and trying to regain control of this one.

Remember, this is not a title fight. So Tyson Fury will be leaving with his WBC belt no matter what. Will he lose his unbeaten record though?

    Fury v Ngannou

Fury recognises the situation, he's been there before. He gets caught with that left hook. That's why this game is so exciting, especially in this division.

  8. Fury able to continuepublished at 23:55 British Summer Time 28 October 2023

We have seen Tyson Fury recover from being knocked down in the past, and he will have to do the same again. He's OK to carry on but this was not on the cards at all!

  9. Fury knocked downpublished at 23:54 British Summer Time 28 October 2023

A huge left hook from Ngannou catches the top of the Briton's head and Fury, the world heavyweight champion, is down. Unbelievable.

    Round 3

A big left from Ngannou and it lands. That's probably his best punch of the night so far, early in the third.

Worst atmosphere I've seen at such a big fight.

    Round 2

Better from Ngannou, trying to rough up Fury up close. Both fighters switch stances and Fury may have developed a bit of a cut from what appeared to be an accidental clash of heads.

Not a round to find many highlights from. Fury seeing off any attack with relative ease but Ngannou, in his first professional boxing match, is giving a decent account of himself.

  13. 'I was impressed with Ngannou'published at 23:48 British Summer Time 28 October 2023

    Fury v Ngannou

    Dan Hardy
Former UFC fighter on TNT Sports

I was impressed. I thought he looked composed and held his shape well. Ngannou is not rushing and thinking about what he is doing. That is a very impressive start from Ngannou.

    Round 1

The Ngannou corner already try to get some swelling around both of his eyes down in the minute between the rounds.

But he did survive the opening three minutes, which many didn't have on their predictions.

    Round 1

Tyson Fury comes out swinging in the first few seconds, trying to make an instant mark and looking to take him out early doors.

As you'd expect Ngannou is hardly able to land anything of note. He then gets tagged with a glorious overhand right from Fury with a straight left finding the target soon afterwards.

The Brighton Bard: The fight should be taking place in Vegas as Fury taking a huge gamble. A puncher’s chance is still a chance and he is putting so much at stake. If he loses then his legacy would be tarnished which would be a real shame.

Ben Blake: If Ngannou wins it does no damage to Fury's position as champion. So what's the point? Where's the governing body, when Fury ignores the queue of challengers to take on a vanity project, that means nothing if he loses?

Fury is 35, 6ft 9 in, 19st 9lbs and has 34 professional fights with 33 wins and one draw.
