Now the Chelsea players are celebrating in front of their section of fans at Leigh Sports Village.

Those who travelled up from London on a Wednesday night have got their rewards.

    Champions again!

    Unbeaten. Invincible. Inevitable.

The celebrations are very subdued. This was the very least this Chelsea team wanted this season.

It shows their dominance that a sixth successive title felt a matter of time rather than if.

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Chelsea

Millie Bright at least seems to be enjoying herself, holding a Chelsea banner aloft with a big smile.

Including the Spring Series, this is the ninth league title of her remarkable Blues career.

    FT: Man Utd 0-1 Chelsea

A very muted reaction here - the final whistle was greeted with a few cheers form the away end, and a few boos from the home fans.

Hugs and smiles from the Chelsea players, but nothing spectacular.

Is it because these WSL titles are now routine for Chelsea - or are they still feeling sore from Barcelona on Sunday?

To Freddie; a good corner, the keeper misses a punch and a sly header into the corner is an individual moment? Being ‘better at the football’ is about scoring and winning

    Stu, Hampshire

Freddie is wrong. Chelsea are Champions because they're a team. They've scored 54 goals to United's 36, from 18 different players

It's no easy feat what Sonia Bompastor has done, the legacy Emma Hayes has left, for her to come in and do it so effortlessly and potentially win three trophies in her first season, credit to her, hats off to her.

Some slight defensive hesitation in the Chelsea back line, before Millie Bright sorts it out with a block on Elisabeth Terland.

Slightly risky tackle that from Bright, who again avoids conceding a penalty.

I may not be popular for saying this, but the WSL is not decided by who plays the best football anymore. It’s decided season upon season by who has the better individuals. This game is a prime example of that. United better at the football, Chelsea more expensive team and an individual moment coming from that.

We will have SEVEN minutes of added time.

Surely not enough time for Man Utd to score twice. Surely?

Hannah Hampton's heart is in her mouth as a looping cross from the right clips the top of her crossbar and lands on the roof of the net.

Hannah Hampton's distribution has been poor today, an attempted chip pass is intercepted at the Chelsea keeper is fortunate it leads to nothing.

England fans will hope Hampton finds her range by the start of the Euros this summer.

We talk about sport not being fair and if you're watching here today, you'd say Chelsea winning today isn't fair.

But after getting knocked out of the Champions League, coming here and beating Man Utd 1-0 is not an easy thing to do, and this is why they're champions.

Chelsea DO NOT deserve this! United have been all over them and there should have been a penalty in the first half. Should be at least 3-0 down
