Drinkhall misses out on final spotpublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 7 August 2022

    Men's singles

Ahhh what a shame. Despite a valiant effort Paul Drinkhall will not feature in tomorrow's final, he loses out to India's Sharath Kamal Achanta 8-11 8-11 11-8 7-11 11-9 8-11.

He will face the loser of the other semi-final - England's Liam Pitchford against India's Sathiyan Gnanasekaran - in the bronze medal match.

Not to be for Scotland's Adam Hall and Julie MacPherson as they lose their bronze medal match to Malaysia in straight games.

So two chances of medals at the badminton are now gone, after Kirsty Gilmour's loss earlier.

Even still, it's been a record-breaking Games for Scotland.

Australia set India 162 to winpublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 7 August 2022

    Final: Australia 161-8 v India

That was an interesting finish for Australia...

They lost 4-25 in 18 balls thanks to some outstanding fielding from India, but have still managed to post a very defendable total of 161-8.

Rachael Haynes' 18 from 10 balls could be key for the favourites as they try to wrap up cricket's 'grand slam'. India will get their chase under way very shortly.

That was utterly ridiculous. Malaysia's Lai Pei just changed rackets while her playing partner was hitting a smash.

She grabs it from the players' boxes next to the court and continues, and Malaysia win the point. Amazing.

Scotland's Adam Hall and Julie MacPherson are a game down, and trail 16-13 in the second.

Tremendous from Matty Lee, just when he needed to dig deep and find something to stay in contention and he does that.

And Noah Williams has responded - he is not ready to exit this contest for the medals. Not quite as good as Matty Lee's though.

Everyone has got a little bit closer to Cass Rousseau - particularly Rylan Wiens, who is breathing down his neck.

This last round is going to be electric.

Rylan Wiens registers the highest score of the final - 90.75 - to move to within two points of leader Cassiel Rousseau.

Matty Lee is fighting hard too. He is into the bronze medal position after his reverse three 1/2 somersaults brings a score of 85.00

Matty Lee has given it his all, that is a spot-on take-off but just can't control the entry. Such a shame, that had nines all over it before that slight error. You can see the disappointment on his face.

Noah Williams shaking his head as well, no-one really making a play for gold, but Cass Rousseau is just about making the most of the mistakes of others.

    Men's 10m platform final

Cassiel Rousseau extends his lead at the top after round four as his opponents falter.

He is now 21 points clear of Rylan Wiens, who looked frustrated with himself after his tricky armstand back two somersaults with two 1/2 twists could only score 64.80.

It was a frustrating dive for Matty Lee and Noah Williams too. They are fourth and sixth respectively and face a fight to clamber back into the medal positions.

England's Paul Drinkhall is in this semi-final against India's Sharath Kamal Achanta for the long haul.

Having lost the opening two games 8-11 8-11 he took the third 11-8 to stay in the match before Achanta closed out the fourth game 7-11 and Drinkhall managed to win the fifth 11-9 to keep his hopes of reaching the final alive.

Later, Drinkhall's gold medal-winning doubles partner Liam Pitchford is in the second semi-final.

Australia set for big closing stagespublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 7 August 2022

    Final: Australia 130-4 v India

Australia are in a good position heading into the business end of the innings.

They've just lost the dangerous Ash Gardener but Beth Mooney has brought up her half-century from 36 balls with a four straight down the ground. She's anchored her side throughout.

India did well to restrict England in their semi-final the other night, but the Australia batting line-up is a different prospect...

That opens the door for Australia's Cassiel Rousseau, who scores 83.30 to go top of the standings at the halfway stage.

Noah Williams can't take advantage but his 61.20 keeps him in third. Matty Lee also got his groove back with a score of 84.80, but he is now 20 points off the gold medal spot.

Quite a big splash from England's Matty Lee as he entered the water with his second dive - but he was upside down performing an armstand before throwing himself off the platform and into three somersaults.

Only 3.3 degree of difficulty? Come on!

A big roar for Noah Williams after he nails his inward somersaults and gets a 9 from one of the judges.

He's still got his armstand dive to come...

England's Noah Williams is just four points behind in the silver medal position, with Australia's Cassiel Rousseau third.

Matty Lee could only score 56.10 with his second dive so drops down to sixth.

India were in dire need of a wicket and they've managed to conjure one.

Meg Lanning has been brilliantly run out by Radha Yadav at the non striker's end for 36 - and she's not overly thrilled about it.

Still, Australia have a great platform in place, with Tahlia McGrath on her way out to join Beth Mooney.
