    Men's 50m butterfly

Saturday night’s men's butterfly could well be interesting based on the heats this morning.

Australia's Kyle Chalmers was 100th of a second quicker than England's Ben Proud, while South Africa's Chad le Clos looks like he may have a bit of work to do in this evening's semi-finals.

    Michael Morrow
BBC Sport NI at Arena Birmingham

A double fist pump from Wales' Joe Cemlyn-Jones as he completes his rings routine.

He gets a score of 13.100 which puts him level with compatriot Brinn Bevan on the rings - with Bevan ahead in the standings due to his higher execution score - just behind apparatus leader Daniel Lee (13.400).

    Women's tandem B sprint semi-finals

    Katie Falkingham
BBC Sport at Lee Valley VeloPark

Absolutely electric noise as England's Sophie Unwin and her pilot Georgia Holt look to book their place in the gold medal final of the women's tandem B sprint. However, they are then relegated for an irregularity and it's Scotland's Aileen McGlynn and pilot Ellie Stone who progress to the gold medal final where they will face Australia's Jessica Gallagher (Caitlin Ward) for the Commonwealth title.

Unwin and Holt will take on Libby Clegg and pilot Jenny Holl for the bronze medal.

    Pamela Cookey

It was a combination of a few missed shots and that final feed into the circle, - but great for England on how they worked it out. They come through the court so quickly and when everyone is moving they can carve through Trinidad and Tobago.

Fierce competitors on the course, great friends off itpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Men's triathlon

More from men's triathlon winner Alex Yee, on New Zealand's Hayden Wilde, who finished second: "I have got a lot of time for Hayden. He is a great competitor who has brought the best out of me. We are fierce competitors on the course but great friends off it. I hope that together we can do great things for the sport.

On fellow English triathlete Jonny Brownlee, who missed the Games with an injury sustained in a crash in competition in Leeds earlier in the season: "I wish Jonny the best. I am so sorry he couldn't be here today. Those boys [Jonny and Alistair Brownlee] have done a lot for me. I spent so many years learning from them."

    Women's team sprint qualifying

    Katie Falkingham
BBC Sport at Lee Valley VeloPark

The Wales trio of Lowri Thomas, Rhian Edmunds and Emma Finucane qualify third fastest and that sends them through to the bronze medal final a little later on today.

In setting that time, they knock England out of the top four, and they will take on Australia for a place on the bottom step of the podium.

It's New Zealand v Canada for gold.

England extend leadpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    England 13-4 Trinidad & Tobago

    Becky Grey
    BBC Sport at NEC Arena

OK, the NEC crowd seems reassured.

Goal attack Helen Housby - star of the 2018 gold-winning Games - is putting up a few unexpected misses but England have too much quality for Trinidad and Tobago, carving out a 13-4 lead.

    Men's floor

    Michael Morrow
BBC Sport NI at Arena Birmingham

Good stuff from Northern Ireland's Eamon Montgomery, who receives a score of 13.750 for his floor routine.

It's the highest score we've had from the 10 gymnasts to have gone so far today.

  12. netball

Netballpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    England 6-4 Trinidad & Tobago

    Pamela Cookey
    Former England shooter

It must be so difficult for Trinidad and Tobago coming out against the home nation and playing them first - but they have no fear do they.

They are being really clinical when they have ball in hand.

  13. cricket

Cricket - Australia hit backpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    India 117-5 v Australia (16 overs)

Australia are doing well to restrict India in the closing overs.

And that's largely to do with Jess Jonassen who takes two wickets in the 16th over to move to figures of 3-11.

Getting ready at the NEC for Scotland's Reese Lynch to begin his campaign in the men's light-welterweight division. Timon Aaree of Kiribati is the man in the other corner.

It's a pretty sparse crowd, save a pocket of rowdy Scots down near ringside cheering for the main medal hope in the team.

Netballpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    England 5-3 Trinidad & Tobago

    Pamela Cookey

This is where England will shine on these early defensive rebounds. And good pressure from the attacking end of England's defence.

The Roses are so quick down the court.

  16. hockey

Women's hockey - Scotland leadpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    South Africa 2-3 Scotland

That's brilliant forward play from Scotland's Fiona Burnet who goes clear of her marker and deflects a drilled Sarah Robertson pass into the corner of the net.

Scotland lead in the third quarter and have the momentum.

'My greatest achievement ever'published at 12:09 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Men's triathlon

England's Alex Yee, men's triathlon gold medallist, speaking to BBC One: "I am just happy. Just bizarre that it's me doing this. There were so many nations and athletes that I have not raced before.

"I feel extremely grateful and proud to be a triathlete today. It's an amazing day for triathlon and I feel super proud to be the winner of this event.

"This is home Games and the first time I have been able to race in front of my parents for a long time. This is probably I'd say my greatest achievement ever. I have spent so many sessions doing the same hill so many times and when I got there it felt like I had done this race before.

"I backed my run to an extent. I am proud of my team. To hold the gap to 15 seconds on the bike was pretty good and I felt confident I could do it. Hayden [Wilde] is a great competitor."

Stuttering start from Englandpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    England 4-3 Trinidad & Tobago

    Becky Grey
    BBC Sport at NEC Arena

It's not been a flawless start from England, with a couple of short-range misses from goal attack Helen Housby and an overthrow from centre Laura Malcolm to shooter Jo Harten.

Malcolm did pick up an interception in mid-court but England didn't manage to get the shot away.

The hosts have still got a 4-3 lead but they weren't expecting to be challenged by this Trinidad & Tobago side.

England's team sprint trio of Millie Tanner, Sophie Capewell and Blaine Ridge-Davis go into third place as it stands in qualifying with their time of 48.358.

Scotland are one place behind them in the precarious position of fourth - only the four fastest teams progress to the finals.

Malaysia, Canada and Wales to come.

The crowd pushed Yee over the linepublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    Men's triathlon

    Jodie Stimpson
2014 Commonwealth triathlon gold medalist on BBC TV

I didn't know if Alex Yee could cut that gap. He definitely had to go into the hurt zone in the run. You can see the maturity in his performance - he looked cool, calm and collected. To get a win at a home Commonwealth Games - he should be over the moon with that. The crowd pushed him over the line to get that win. The atmosphere is electric. He would have been grateful for that.
