    Women's 3,000m individual pursuit

A little earlier we saw Scotland win another medal in the velodrome, with Neah Evans claiming bronze in the women's 3,000m individual pursuit.

Here's what she had to say...

Not to be for England's Hayden Norris.

The 19-year-old, who came sixth in 2022 British Championships, is beaten by Australia's Thomas Cornish in the second of the four repechages.

Seven heaven for Englandpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Women's hockey: England 7-0 Ghana

That's five penalty-corner goals now for England. It's a simple deflection finish as Hannah Martin diverts home Anna Toman's drag flick.

    Women's hockey: England 6-0 Ghana

    Kate Richardson-Walsh

Tess Howard is very good in the back space. That ball falls to her and there’s just one thing in her mind: this is going towards the goal. Howard is making no mistakes there.

England hit Ghana for sixpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Women's hockey: England 6-0 Ghana

It's taken England just two minutes to get their first goal of the second half against Ghana.

It's a good initial save from keeper from Bridget Azumah with Tess Howard smashing in the rebound on the volley.

    Men's keirin repechages

So the upshot of that is four become three. Like Take That when Jason Orange left.

Will one of Australia's Thomas Cornish, England's Hayden Norris and Jamaica's Malik Reid go onto Rule the World?

Maybe a bit premature. First they need to win this heat of the repechage...

Canada's Wammes disqualifiedpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Men's keirin repechages

Drama! The riders have to stay within 10m of the derny rider and Jamaica's Malik Reid does exactly that.

But Canada's Nick Wammes is dawdling and the gun goes. Uh oh! That means it is a DQ.

The Canadian coach is fuming and so too is Wammes, who lobs his helmet at a chair.

No debate he was adrift and pushing the rules, but there might be a debate - at least from the Canadians - that Wammes wasn't more than 10m away. Hmmm.

    Chris Boardman's assessment?

"That's a pretty embarrassing way to go out of the competition which you've come halfway round the world for."

    OUCH.

England's Truman throughpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Men's keirin repechages

This is a test of endurance, power and, perhaps most importantly, nerve.

All four riders are set in a symmetrical and solid position on the back straight, two at the top and two at the bottom.

But it is England's Joe Truman who is the frontrunner and has the inside line...

He's in control and there is no beating him from there. Truman is through to the second round!

Women's hockey HT: England 5-0 Ghana

Meanwhile it's half-time at the hockey and England are cruising.

It's been a game of penalty corners so far with the first four of England's goals coming from shorts.

Back to the men's keirin and it's the repechages - a second chance for riders to progress to the second round.

Joe Truman of England and Scotland's Alistair Fielding are in the first heat, with England's Hayden Norris in the second.

The winner of each heat goes through.

    Women's 3000m individual pursuit

    Chris Boardman

What a ride by Bryony Botha - beautifully timed.

To be able to do two rides like that back to back - she rode her own race, almost a carbon copy of this morning, but actually quicker.

    Women's artistic team final

Scotland are about to get cracking with their women's team campaign in the artistic gymnastics. They're competing in subdivision three of four with England and Wales competing in the fourth subdivision later this evening.

Eilidh Gorrell, Emily Bremner, Cara Kennedy and Shannon Archer are starting on vault for their first rotation.

Sri Lanka and India are also competing alongside the Scots in this subdivision.

Scotland's men finished fifth in the team event on Friday with England taking the gold medal and Wales finishing in sixth.

This is where the speed and tempo really makes a difference. Holly Hunt doing well to finish that off after an initial good save. She’s low, she’s ready, she’s in position - happy to see that one going in the goal.

Bryony Botha's grin is golden. The New Zealander produces a world-class ride to win gold in the women's 3,000m individual pursuit.

Australia's Maeve Plouffe is caught by her rival just before the line.

Plouffe graciously pats her thigh in appreciation at her opponent's display, before the pair link hands as they ease off going around the track.

Botha whizzes around in a new Games record of three minutes 18.456 seconds.

    Women's hockey: England 5-0 Ghana

England continue their dominance. Straight from the restart they win the ball back with Tess Howard seeing her deflection saved before Holly Hunt sweeps home the rebound.

That's goal number five with half-time looming.

    Old school!

Another England penalty corner and another England goal.

But there's no drag flick from Giselle Ansley instead she takes a touch to settle herself before striking the ball against the backboard with a cracking hit.

The saltires in the stand at the back straight flutter as Neah Evans salutes her supporters.

The Scot was over a second slower than she was in qualifying this morning, but still comfortably emerges with the bronze.

That's three track medals now for Scotland!

Evans is really committed to training in that position - holding that black line and focussing on the effort.

Slower than she was this morning, but this isn't about time - it's about crossing the line first.

  20. bronze medal

Bronze medal - Scotland - Neah Evanspublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Women's 3,000m individual pursuit

Another medal for Neah Evans in a brilliant career.

Another medal for Scotland at the Lee Valley Velopark.

Maybe not the colour which the 31-year-old wanted before the event, but one she will certainly be delighted with.

One of the Scottish coaches is wearing a kilt as he applauds Evans from trackside, while Saltires are being waved in the stands.
