Look at the crowds to welcome home the 22-year-old marathon winner Victor Kiplangat. He took a little wrong turn towards the end but apart from that he did not put a foot wrong. He eventually broke Alphonce Simbu on the hills who claims second place for Tanzania.

    Men's marathon

Victor Kiplangat had to burn off a fan who decided to race him up a hill a few moments ago.

And now takes a wrong turn before hastily doubling back again. Will that make any difference to the outcome? Probably not. He looks to be still well, well clear.

This is the last hill. Given our leader Victor Kiplangat's mountain running background you can see how strong he is. Look at his thighs. He doesn't look like a long-distance runner does he? Those quads have done some mountain running.

Is anyone else trying to pick out spots on the marathon course that they know well? I've seen a couple of restaurants and bars that I've visited on previous trips to Brum. Good times.

If you were with us yesterday, you'll remember that England's para-cyclist Sophie Unwin was left in tears after she was not awarded a bronze medal despite placing third in the tandem B sprint.

She and pilot Georgia Holt later unofficially posed on the podium with medals borrowed from their team-mates in the team pursuit.

Well, Unwin and Holt, as well as team manager Keith Reynolds, have each been fined 200 Swiss francs for doing so and had to apologise to the Commonwealth Games Federation.
