Suspected broken collarbone for Trumanpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 30 July 2022

    Men's keirin second round

We know you will all be desperate to hear about Joe Truman's condition and we're hearing he has a suspected broken collarbone.

England's Truman was knocked unconscious by the fall, but as you know he regained consciousness before he was wheeled off the track.

And BBC Sport's Jill Douglas says he was able to text his family on his way out to let them know he was relatively OK.

    Phew.

    Get well soon Joe!

Bowler Issy Wong is practically a wise old head at the grand age of 20.

She knows her way around Edgbaston though. She plays her county cricket here and you can find her standing tall in promotional boards in the bowels of the stands.

Sophie Capewell took it comfortably - when it looked like she was rolling down the track she was out of the saddle for another kick and she neutralised any chance for Finucane to slipstream.

You will remember a little while ago that Welsh teenager Emma Finucane and England's Sophie Capewell lost in women's sprint semi-finals.

So they are now battling it out for the bronze medal.

In the best of three battle, Capewell takes the first race as she wins by 0.082 seconds.

England's Hamish Turnbull can't follow Scotland's Jack Carlin into the final with a fifth-place finish in his heat.

The crowd is still reeling from that horrific Joe Truman crash. Hopefully the next race on the track can perk them up.

It's the first race of Wales v England for the women's sprint bronze. Emma Finucane will take on Sophie Capewell for a place on the podium in a best-of-three format.

    Netball: Jamaica v South Africa

Over at the NEC in the netball world number four Jamaica take on world number five South Africa, who will host the netball World Cup next year.

These two are pretty much battling for that second semi-final spot in Group A, with top-seeds Australia more than likely set to finish top of the group. The Sunshine Girls of Jamaica already have one win under their belt, beating Wales 72-43 yesterday, while this is South Africa's first match of the Games.

Jamaica won bronze on the Gold Coast in 2018 while the Proteas of South Africa have never made it to the podium before.

    Edgbaston

As you stroll up Pershore Road and come alongside Edgbaston there are a few lines of rhyme built into the stadium's red brick.

They are particularly pertinent tonight. England are fresh off a successful multi-format series meeting with South Africa. The final score was a resounding 14-2 in favour of the hosts. But the most pleasing thing for might have been the emergence of a clutch of young stars.

Alice Capsey and Freya Kemp, both 17, have been included in England's 15-strong squad for the tournament after strong showings against South Africa.

Will the stars of tomorrow start today?

The whole atmosphere changed as soon as the riders hit the deck.

We see Matt Glaetzer quickly climb to his feet, with holes ripped all over his kit. That's a relief. He looks to be OK.

Medical staff race onto the track to tend to Joe Truman. He doesn't look to be moving initially, but a few seconds later there is a big cheer from the crowd. That's because there is movement from the English rider.

That's positive. A few moments later, Truman is sat upright and wearing an oxygen mask. Another ovation as he is wheeled off the track.

Awful to see and we hope both Truman and Glaetzer have avoided any serious injuries.

Hopefully nothing more than a few bumps and bruises.

England's Joe Truman and Australia's Matt Glaetzer collide, both riders hitting the deck and going off their bikes.

The rest continue around the track until the whistle goes and the race is brought to a halt.

Fingers crossed that both Glaetzer and Truman are not seriously injured.
