HUGE start to the night for England.

There seem to be more flags in here than last night - the crowd absolutely loved that.

Australia dominated the first finals session yesterday. Hopefully it's a different story today.

Excellent start by Ben Proud and he is leading already.

Away we go in the first final in the pool tonight.

Out comes Ben Proud to a huge cheer. Wisely he hasn't put his swimming cap on yet so he can soak up that reception.

Not long to go. Just the 50m remember so it will be almost blink and you'll miss it.

Ben Proud is way faster than me! He was world champion a couple of years ago. He is not someone who struts around and expects to win, I almost want to put my arm around him and tell him he is really good and needs to believe in himself a bit more.

Women's artistic team final

Here we go then.

England, Wales, Canada and Australia are heading into the arena for the final stint of the women's gymnastics team event.

England will start their campaign for gold on the uneven bars, alongside current Commonwealth champions Canada. Wales will get going with Australia on vault.

Should be a cracker, this.

England's Ben Proud qualified fastest for the men's 50m butterfly final and the 2014 champion is in lane four.

His compatriots Jacob Peters and Adam Barrett – on his 30th birthday – are in lanes six and eight respectively.

Welsh record holder Lewis Fraser is in lane seven.

Scotland will face England on Sunday in a bid to finish in fifth place in the women's rugby sevens competition in Coventry.

After England defeated South Africa 36-0, Scotland hammered Sri Lanka 58-0 with Rhona Lloyd crossing for four tries.

England's men, who are also out of medal contention after failing to achieve quarter-final qualification, defeated Jamaica 45-7 as they bid to finish ninth, while Wales beat Malaysia 33-14.

Women's semi-finals and men's quarter-finals to follow tonight.

There's an England flag opposite me with the words 'God save Tom Dean' written on it.

His mum Jacqui has just been interviewed on the big screen and the crowd loved her. Dean's battle with Scotland's Duncan Scott for 200m freestyle gold is likely to be the big moment in a stellar night of swimming.

Tom Dean may be going up against his Olympics team-mate Duncan Scott tonight but previously he took on TV personality Kem Cetinay in a 200m race.

Cetinay had a powered sea scooter, but did Dean still have the edge? Watch above.

Duncan Scott had Covid not long ago, but you wouldn't know it looking at his schedule for tonight.

The Scot goes head-to-head once again with England's Tom Dean in the 200m freestyle final at 19:43 BST, before competing in the 400m individual medley just over an hour away.

Two pretty brutal events in one night - these swimmers are something else.

That's that - Scotland have done all they can do, posting an overall score of 146.500, and will now wait for the evening session to play out to find out where they will finish overall.

They didn't quite have enough to finish above South Africa, who competed in the earlier subdivision and lead the standings so far with a total of 147.750.

Scotland's Shannon Archer tops the individual standings at the moment and that will pretty much guarantee her a spot in the all-around event tomorrow.

The big guns - England, Wales, Canada and Australia - will enter the fray shortly in the fourth subdivision from 19:00 BST. Stay tuned.

Adam Peaty broke his foot 10 weeks ago, so we weren't quite sure how he was going to go in the 100m breaststroke heats this morning.

The answer? Quite well.

He was the only swimmer to go under a minute and qualified fastest for the semi-finals.

Australia's 200m gold medallist Zac Stubblety-Cook and Scottish bronze medallist will be up against Peaty, while England's James Wilby - who won silver over 200m last night - is in the other semi-final. Tasty.

Plenty of action coming up in the pool from 19:00 BST with 10 golds to be won.

First up is the men's 50m butterfly where England’s Ben Proud will be looking to add to the gold he won in 2014.

Adam Peaty will also be back in the water after he qualified fastest for this evening's 100m breaststroke semi-finals earlier today.

Sri Lanka, who had been growing in confidence, have been wobbled by the loss of two wickets in the space of 10 balls.

First Sophie Ecclestone gobbled up a pin-sharp caught and bowled chance to get rid of Hasini Perera for 17 before 17-year-old Freya Kemp, who picked up two wicket on her T20 international debut against South Africa last week, bowled captain Chamari Arthapaththu.

England will hope they can crowbar open the whole of the Sri Lankan batting order from here.

Wales' flagbearer Tesni Evans has booked her place in the last 16 of the women's squash singles with a 3-0 win over Barbados' Amanda Haywood.

Her brother Emyr qualified for the men's last 16 with a 3-1 win over Malaysia's Mohammad Syafiq Kamal earlier.

Half-time between Jamaica and South Africa in the netball.

Difficult start for South Africa, they're probably not getting as close to Jamaica as they would like. It is so difficult to stop those lofty balls in to Jhaniele Fowler in the shooting circle, though - she has scored all 24 of her shots.

This result will almost decide who takes second spot in Group A, even at this early stage. Big second half incoming for the Proteas.
