    Women's hockey: England 0-0 Ghana

Elsewhere, it's all England halfway through the first quarter with the host nation having two huge chances to open the scoring.

First, forward Isabelle Petter finds some room on her reverse side, striking the ball against the post.

Then, Giselle Ansley has a drag flick from a penalty corner which is only just kicked away by Ghana keeper Bridget Azumah. Good start.

In the second heat, we have England's Hayden Norris. The 19-year-old is making his Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022.

Joining him on the start line in heat two is David Beckham Elkatohchoongo. Yes you read that right.

The Indian is from a big Manchester United-supporting family, and his father decided he would be named after the England legend before he was even born.

Elkatohchoongo even revealed the passport inspector did a double-take on his arrival in the UK.

It's a long way, three laps. It used to be two and a half and you wouldn't think it's such a difference but there really is.

Glaetzer took it on for three laps and he just let them squabble behind him.

Truman will be disappointed for sure and will be back for the repechage.

Australia's Matthew Glaetzer has already been flying on the track in these Games, helping his nation win gold yesterday in the team sprint.

And he's in fine form again as he wins the first race in the men's keirin.

England's Joe Truman is well in the mixer, pushing New Zealand's Callum Saunders for second.

But Saunders holds on to automatically qualify for the second round.

Truman missed out on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after spinal surgery but he's back for his second Commonwealth Games after winning team sprint silver four years ago.
