    Katie Crowhurst was in tears of joy as she claimed gold: "It's amazing - I wouldn't have been able to do it without Jess - it has been great.

    "It's been a really tough competition. It's great to have the support to help push through the pain (of a stitch)."

    Jess Fullagar: "It was insane and I was concerned with the rain I thought the crowds wouldn't be there, but they were and they pushed it on. I thought the Canadians would be right there but they weren't and we smashed it."

    It was Matt Bostock of the Isle of Man who was taken away on a stretcher, while England's Matt Walls was the rider who landed in the crowd.

    Walls is still receiving medical treatment in the stands.

    Scotland's men have been thrashed 12-0 by holders Australia in their second Commonwealth Games Pool A hockey match.

    Jeremy Hayward scored four for the world's number one ranked side who are 18 places above underdogs Scotland.

    After drawing 5-5 in a thriller with New Zealand in their first match, Scotland now face an uphill battle to reach the semi-finals.

    Australia, playing their opener, have won gold in every edition of the games since hockey's introduction in 1998.

    There's just been a huge, huge crash in the scratch race qualifying.

    Several riders went down with several bangs, with one going over the barrier and both him and his bike flying into the crowd. He is receiving treatment, as are a couple of spectators by the looks of things.

    Another rider is being taken away on a stretcher.

    Very much feels like the Commonwealth Games meets an episode of Love Island or something like that.

    Australian swimmer Kyle Chalmers has dismissed talk of a rift with Commonwealth Games swimming team-mates Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon.

    Simpson is reportedly dating McKeon, Chalmers' ex-girlfriend and Chalmers says his "time in the sport will be finished" if "false headlines" continue to circulate.

    In a post on Instagram,, external the 2016 Olympic champion 24-year-old wrote "tonight is the breaking point.

    "I am your poster boy from 2016 and I'm your villain in 2022.

    Women's 55kg

    England's Fraer Morrow said she did not immediately realise she had won a medal after taking bronze in the Commonwealth Games women's 55kg weightlifting.

    "The coaches came up to me and were like, 'Ah better luck next time, it's all right,'" said Morrow.

    "Then one of the ladies was like, 'How does it feel to be a bronze medallist?' And I was like, 'What?'"

    Morrow lifted 198kg (snatch 89kg, clean and jerk 109kg); Nigeria's Adijat Adenike Olarinoye took gold with 203kg.
