Youth came out on top versus experience as 20-year-old English fighter Gemma Richardson beat 32-year-old Megan Reid of Scotland.

Sometimes a silver is not enough. Certainly not for a distraught Finlay Allan, who could not hold back the tears after losing his Commonwealth Games judo gold-medal bout.

Allan, 20, was unfancied and continued to defy the odds in Monday's rounds before finding Georgios Balarjishvili too much to overcome as the Cypriot won by waza-ari in the -66kg final.

Now then, England's Sarah Davies misses her first attempt at 126kg.

She looked a little lost after the clean and dropped the weight looking a little dizzy. She'll take a couple of minutes to compose herself and go again.

She only needs to stick one.

    Well, that was good.

An England team full of silky skill and old-fashioned spunk take down Australia before goading the crowd to deliver more decibels in celebration.

They get them. There is a whole lotta love in the arena.

England will play either New Zealand or Canada in tomorrow's final.

Sarah Davies and Nigeria's Joy Ogbonne Eze lifted the most in the snatch round and therefore have the best chance of a medal coming into the clean and jerk.

Eze has missed TWO attempts to lift 125kg. WOW, that is surprising.

She has one more attempt to go for it to keep her hopes of a medal alive - can she do it?

Oh no, she can't! She looks absolutely gutted.

But it's in Sarah Davies' hands now...
