Scotland dominating Barbadospublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 3 August 2022

    Scotland 54-20 Barbados

Scotland are still ticking over but it's been a much closer third quarter.

The home nation have passed the 50 mark and are almost certain to win this match, it's just a question of how many more they can score before full-time.

Barbados have improved their flow but still look very static as the ball comes through court.

Meet Maureen and Tony Spinks from Evesham.

Maureen is sporting a vintage piece of retro sportswear - a London 2012 Gamesmaker uniforn.

Ten years ago, she was on duty at the beach volleyball on Horse Guards Parade. But that is not all.

Eight years ago, she volunteered at Glasgow 2014 helping keeping things rolling smoothly at the lawn bowls at Kelvingrove.

This time around she and Tony have been purely spectating. They have already been to beach volleyball, table tennis and badminton.

    Unstoppable.

You really are going to have to keep your wits about you to follow every medal tonight. First up in the pool it’s another Duncan Scott v Tom Dean face-off everyone!

Scott has picked up a gold and three bronzes so far in Birmingham, while England’s Dean has no fewer than five silver medals already in his washbag ready to go home. Can he find a golden performance to cap things off?

    Men's high jump final

Time for the men's high jump final now.

Will England's Joel Clarke-Khan be able to make home advantage count? The 22-year-old actually trains at the Alexander Stadium under coach Robbie Grabarz, the 2012 Olympic silver medallist.

He’s set a PB of 2.27m this summer, although the likes of New Zealand's Hamish Kerr and reigning champion Brandon Starc – younger brother of Australia fast bowler Mitchell are expected to have a big say in the outcome.

Scotland have two entrants, Will Grimsey and David Smith. You'd imagine both will have to be close (or pass) their best marks this season to be in with a shout of a medal.

    Women's +78kg final

Another gold for Scotland! Another gold for Sarah Adlington!

The 35-year-old from Scotland has been dominating and seals an ippon victory with a superb roll of her opponent.

That's a second Commonwealth gold for Adlington after she also won in Glasgow 2014, meaning she is the first Scottish judoka to triumph twice at the Games.

Tears of joy for Adlington. What an achievement.

We have some half-time entertainment at the NEC Arena!

There's a dozen cheerleaders performing on the floor and really getting the crowd hyped for the second-half.

I wouldn't want to be chucked in the air like that ...

Manan is biding her time, treading a fine line between being tactically cautious and not being active enough.

She receives two penalties and we know that it is three strikes and you're out.

Adlington is doing most of the attacking. Can she get reward in the final minute?

    Record on the cards?

    Richard Winton
BBC Sport Scotland at Sandwell Aquatics Centre

Here's a thing... Scotland's swimming squad came into this meet expecting to win three medals based on the rankings. And all three would have been claimed by one man. I'll leave you to guess who.

But before the last night of competition, they've accumulated 10 medals including relays. And there are quiet murmurs of optimism about another couple being added to that tally.

Do that and they match the record set in Melbourne in 2006.

Looks like half of Edinburgh has turned up in Coventry to support Sarah Adlington.

"Let's go Sarah, let's go!" is sang in a heavy collective Scottish accent.

Adlington is the heavier fighter as she grapples with India's Tulika Maan in the opening exchanges.

No pressure on Bethany Firth or anything, but Northern Ireland would really, *really* like a gold tonight.

Mind you, the six-time Paralympic champion is no stranger to swimming under the weight of expectation.

This has long been earmarked as probably NI's best chance of gold in these Games, given Firth has won S14 women's 200m gold at European, World and Paralympic level.

Commonwealth is the only major honour still missing from her frankly ridiculous CV.

I feel like I am wandering through the pages of a bid document.

When Birmingham won the right to take on these Games in 2017 after Durban withdrew as hosts, scenes like these must have been the organisers' wildest dream and boldest pitch.

A hazy, lazy evening of sun, bubbling with excitement and anticipation for a blockbuster card of track and field action.

If she beats India's Tulika Maan, she'll be the first ever judoka to win two Commonwealth golds.

Eight years ago she briefly lost her gold medal - only to find it in an x-ray machine at security at the athletes' village.

Let's hope she hangs on to whatever medal she claims this time...

These two have played only once before, with Kennedy winning 3-1 at the PSL Cup in March this year.

Naughton was actually born and raised in Barnsley, before moving to Toronto at the age of 10 - but she still considers Barnsley her home!

The 25-year-old can stretch his record tonight, starting with yet another battle with England's Tom Dean, in the medley this time...

The home nation are fast and clinical on their attack and are making it look very easy!

Niamh McCall is looking ruthless in goal attack.

Barbados have a lot of work to do in the second-half if they're going to get themselves back in this game.
