England's Toussaint misses out on bronzepublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    Women's featherweight quarter-finals

England's Sameenah Toussaint has been up against it, with Australia's Tina Rahimi roughing her opponent up.

The bout goes the distance but only one arm is going to be raised. It's an Australian one!

Rahimi, who is the first Muslim female to box for Australia at a Commonwealth Games, is now guaranteed at least a bronze medal.

Born in Australia to Iranian parents, she only started boxing in 2017 as a form of exercise.

What a rise in a short space of time!

    Women's heavyweight final

The NEC has opened its doors once again to host the concluding powerlifting finals.

This time fans get to enjoy the heavyweight division, with the women's event first to take to the bench.

Home nations' interest falls on the (very strong) shoulders of England's Rebecca Bedford, who not only excels in the sport of powerlifting, the 24-year-old is also a three-time Para-Badminton world champion.

    Not too shabby.

    Women's 400m hurdles round one

England's Lina Nielsen gets a lovely reception as her name is announced.

Nielsen, 26, who won a 4x400m bronze at the World Championships recently spoke about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis and how she had been unable to compete to her usual standard in Oregon in July.

She is likely to have her work cut out to win this heat mind.

Defending Commonwealth champion Janieve Russell is in lane 3 and fellow Jamaican Shiann Salmon in lane 6 have both dipped under the 54-second mark this term unlike the Englishwoman.

Still the first three qualify and on paper, only New Zealand's Portia Bing could challenge her for a top three spot.

Parchment out of 110m hurdles finalpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

There is still a punchy Jamaican contingent, but Hansle Parchment's absence might open the door to English duo Josh Zeller and Andrew Pozzi.

That one goes off at 21:45 BST.

    Rob Walker
    Commentator on BBC TV

Breaking news here. I am just being handed a piece of paper that says Hansle Parchment, the Olympic champion in the 110m hurdles, will not be contesting the final, so another huge disappointment for him. The Jamaican was hoping to bounce back from the disappointment of injury just moments before the world championship final. He looked good in qualification and was lining up as the favourite for the title here later on this evening.

England need 72 to beat New Zealandpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 4 August 2022

    England v New Zealand 71-9 (20 overs)

    Alistair Watkins
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

Smiles all around for England after a superb bowling performance.

Katherine Brunt set the tone with two wickets for just four runs, Issy Wong and Sarah Glenn also claimed two wickets and Sophie Ecclestone kept the pressure on with her left-arm trickery.

Also fair to say it was a dismal batting display from New Zealand.

How long will it take England to knock these runs off?

Remember victory means they will top the group and avoid overwhelming gold-medal favourites Australia in the semi-finals.

We're all set for the Women's 10m platform final.

Malaysia’s serial major medallist Pandelela Rinong won the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold in this event. she also won silver in 2014 and was fourth in 2018.

England’s Lois Toulson – girlfriend of Jack Laugher who has just won gold in the men's 1m springboard – beat her to bronze then but hasn’t been in top form in recent years.

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is also in the final representing England. She joins Northern Ireland's Tanya Watson, Wales' Lucy Hawkins and Scotland's Gemma McArthur as home-nation hopefuls in this final which gets under way in less than two minutes time.

Imagine the feeling going out to the ring with a reception like this.

Incredible noise as England's Sameenah Toussaint bounds out for her quarter-final against Australia's Tini Rahimi.

Teenager Toussaint comes from Watford, so you won't be surprised to learn she names Anthony Joshua as one of her boxing heroes.

The Friendly Games? Tell that to Elizabeth Oshoba and Tianna Guy. Some afters after the final bell.

A long wait for the decision... which means it is a tight one.

Indeed it is a split decision but it's Nigeria's Oshoba who gets it.

    South Africa 15-12 Scotland

    Becky Grey
BBC Sport at the NEC Arena

A solid first quarter from Scotland at the netball.

They're ranked ninth in the world and are facing South Africa, who are ranked fifth.

The Thistles pulled out to an early three-goal lead, but a few errors let South Africa back in and at the end of the first 15 minutes Scotland are losing 15-12.

    Still 45 to go though...

Next up? The quarter-finals of the women's featherweight.

Nigeria's Elizabeth Oshoba goes eyeball-to-eyeball with Tianna Guy of the Trinidad and Tobago.

Oshoba leads on the judges' scorecards - but still gets a dressing down from her corner. Some people are never happy.

The winner will face England's Sameenah Toussaint or Australia's Tina Rahimi in the semi-finals.

    That comes up next.

Another miscalculation by the batters and there's a second run-out.

Issy Gaze thinks she's at the safe end but is caught napping.

The next batter Rosemary Mair comes and goes in one ball.

Sarah Glenn sends down a straight delivery and the tail-ender does what tail-enders quite often do and misses the ball.

Absolutely world class for Jack Laugher. he puts it out of reach. That isn't his best list that he has put together but that is the gold.

And a wonderful dive from Jorden Houlden - under the expectation, under the pressure, he has delivered.

He has come a long way from being scared of jumping in.
