Men's time trial
So, it's Fred Wright leading the race for gold from Australia's Lucas Plapp, who required a bike change during his time trial effort.
Wales' Owain Doull comes home over two minutes behind Wright's leading time to move into bronze medal position.
Men's time trial
England's Fred Wright, who entertained us all at this year's Tour de France, moves into the overall lead in the men's time trial as he crosses the line in a time of 46 minutes 47.52 seconds.
Great ride.
Men's 1m springboard
The men’s 1m springboard preliminary round has just got under way in Smethwick.
England’s reigning champion Jack Laugher (sixth to dive) has battled periods of self-doubt in recent years but his record achievements at the 2022 World Championships have put a timely spring in his step.
He declared himself “super pleased” with a hat-trick of medals in Budapest. It’s an unprecedented tally by a British diver in a single World Championships, as is his overall total of seven podium finishes.
It was the 1m event in which Laugher completed his World Championships medal haul in July with silver. China-born two-time former world champion Shixin Li is Australia’s not-so secret weapon as they look to scuttle Laugher’s bid for a third successive Commonwealth 1m title.
Scotland’s James Heatly (seventh to dive) earned bronze in this event four years ago and is joined by compatriots Ross Beattie (eighth) and Danny Mabbott (11th). Jordan Houlden (ninth) goes for England.

Boxing quarter-finals

Dylan Eagleson's quarter-final win means Northern Ireland are guaranteed at least 12 medals from these Games.
That's how many they came home with from the Gold Coast four years ago.
Four more boxers are in action over the course of today knowing a win would guarantee them a medal, so at the risk of jinxing it, it looks like NI are well-placed to beat their 2018 tally.
In case you were wondering, the most medals they have ever won was at Edinburgh 1986, when they picked up 15.
Team final
After England's huge successes at the Arena Birmingham in the artistic gymnastics, compatriots Marfa Ekimova, Saffron Severn and Alice Leaper will try to replicate those triumphs in the rhythmic gymnastics team event.
The first rotation up is the hoop and so far England's trio rank one, two and three with Leaper (a very apt name I might add) leading the way.
Scotland's Louise Christie sits fourth so far - Scotland have not submitted a team but qualification for the individual events is taking place alongside the team event.
Up next is the ball then it will be the clubs and lastly the ribbon.

Two big tells that Northern Ireland's three medal winners were at Centenary Square this morning.
1) Huge crowds of interested fans converged around a few TV cameras about 40 feet away from the big mechanical bull
2) Lady Mary Peters intermittently giving a big "Nooorthern Ireland" shout to get the crowd going
Brilliant scenes altogether as Bethany Firth, Kate O'Connor and Daniel Wiffen showcased their medals and graciously obliged all photo requests in the Birmingham sunshine.
What a night it was for Northern Ireland - they'll look to back it up today with four boxers hoping to join Dylan Eagleson in guaranteeing themselves a medal with quarter-final wins.

It's a guaranteed medal for Northern Ireland teenager Dylan Eagleson in the men's bantamweight.
Eagleson, 19, from Belfast, had received a bye in the last 16, but produced a superb display of movement and counter punching on his Commonwealth Games debut against his relentlessly attacking opponent, Armando Sigauque of Mozambique.
Four of the five judges gave Eagleson the opening round, before he took a clean sweep in the second on his way to a unanimous 5-0 overall victory. Three judges gave him the win by 30-27, with the others scoring it 30-26 and 29-28.
Cycling: Women's time trial

England's Anna Henderson spoke to BBC Sport after winning her silver medal in the women's time trial:
"Grace Brown looked so good yesterday and she's such a strong rider, she looked great in the Tour so I'm really chuffed to come second to her.
"After feeling not super great in the Tour and the last few days I'm really happy to feel good on the bike and have a good time trial.
"It was mega - you don't realise you're at a home Games until everyone is screaming your name and screaming for England. I kept thinking 'oh wow, I am in an England kit so I better move' - just really happy to feel good on the bike and really happy with second.
"I've never done that before, I've never done a proper medal ceremony so it was a bit foreign but, yeah, it was nice. I'm really proud to have a little bull, I was at university in Birmingham so really happy to have the bull!"

Our attention now turns to the men's cycling time trial.
Wales' Geraint Thomas sets off at 14:29 BST but there is already plenty of home nations interest out on the road amongst the early starters.
At the 19.2km time check England's Fred Wright leads the way, 9.4 seconds clear of Australia's Lucas Plapp, and he's only getting quicker.

The third event of the men's decathlon - the shot put - has been completed, and Grenada's Lindon Victor is still leading the way overall.
Victor is on 2659 points, 112 clear of Australian Alec Diamond.
England's Harry Kendall sits sixth on 2349 points.

BBC Sport Wales at the Commonwealth Games
After victory for Aled Sion Davies at the Alexander Stadium, Wales attention turns to Geraint Thomas in the men's time trial in Wolverhampton today which is already underway.
Thomas, who is last rider off at 14:29, will be "fresh" from his third place at the Tour de France as he looks to gain another Commonwealth Games medal.
His current tally stands at three with a road race gold in Glasgow in 2014 and two bronze medals, including the time trial in Scotland eight years ago.
Wales' current medal tally stands at 17 with four golds.
Men's 200m qualifying
And that's a wrap on the men's 200m heats!
Canada's Brendon Rodney has no trouble easing through in a time of 20.84 seconds, with St Lucia's Delan Edwin taking the final automatic spot.
So, it's England's Zharnel Hughes who qualifies for the semi-finals with the fastest time.
Boxing quarter-finals
A superb performance from Scotland's Matthew McHale as he produces a dominant display against Malaysia's Muhammad Ahmad Shaharom to move into the semi-finals of the men's bantamweight and claim at least a bronze medal.
Edinburgh's McHale won the first round on all judges' scorecards and then the second by a 10-8 margin, with an outclassed Ahmad Shaharom also taking a standing eight count.
Ahmad Shaharom took another count in the third before the referee jumped in to stop the contest.
The next fight is also at bantamweight as Dylan Eagleson of Northern Ireland meets Armando Sigauque of Mozambique.
Men's 200m qualifying

On some of the challenges of the past week:
"I'm happy to come out here. Was quite an early start and everyone wanted to qualify safely and try to save as much energy as possible which I felt like I was trying to do. Made the next round
"It's fairly simple - run three races, win them. I'm taking it race by race and I'm into the semis tomorrow."
On having experience:
"That's where it all comes from - experience. Regardless of how fit you are, the form you are in, illnesses, whatever outside distractions, it has to come back experience of me having done this plenty of times. I had to tap into that and it was enough to get me through."
On the crowd:
"It's ridiculous! It's a morning session and we have a full stadium full of fans. We should have events in the UK more often. It is so humbling - it does resemble what I got in 2012."
Wales 60-44 Barbados
Image source, Getty ImagesWales have not reached the semi-final stage of the netball but have recorded their second Pool A victory of the Commonwealth Games against Barbados - an improvement on the 2018 competition where they didn't win any of their pool matches.
Barbados are without a win in this tournament and will play-off for 11th or 12th place tomorrow.
Wales will await the rest of today's results to find out which play-off match and opponent they will face.
Men's 200m qualifying
Two more 200m heats to come.
Kenya's Dan Kiviasi Asamba powers to victory in the seventh and penultimate race at Alexander Stadium in 20.76 seconds.
Malaysia's Russel Alexander Nasir Taib joins him in securing a semi-final place.
Hockey: England 5-0 Wales
And that's the full-time whistle. England women have thrashed Wales 5-0 to qualify for the knockouts as Group A winners and set up a semi-final clash with defending champions New Zealand.
Grace Balsdon scored a hat-trick with Hannah Martin and Giselle Ansley also on target as hosts England continued their unbeaten start in Birmingham.
Men's 1500m qualifying

Boxing quarter-finals
It's a busy afternoon in the boxing over at the NEC Hall Four with quarter-final action with a victory guaranteeing a fighter a bronze medal.
Scotland's Lennon Mulligan is the first Briton to be involved today, but he misses out as he falls to a 5-0 loss to India's Amit, a silver medallist in the 2019 World Championships, in the flyweight category.
Amit gets the verdict 30-27 on two scorecards and 29-28, 30-26, 30-25 on the rest. Next up for Scotland is Matthew McHale and he fights Muhammad Shaharom of Malaysia at bantamweight.
