As the seconds count down, Silver Ferns goal shooter Grace Nweke hops on one foot and tries to get the ball in but it's no good.

Fifteen minutes left and England are 39-33 up. If it stays like this, the Roses will be facing Australia - who they beat to gold in 2018 - in Saturday's semi-final.

One punch from a bloke weighing over 200 pounds and it could be game over for your Commonwealth dream - no matter what happened before.

England's Delicious Orie has to dodge a few swingers in the final round, landing some excellent shots himself.

The bell goes for the final time and Orie celebrates. What a performance!

The crowd go wild too... they know what is coming.

Orie, as we know, wins it and is assured of at least a bronze medal.

Micky Yule claims his first Commonwealth Games medal in the city where he underwent life-saving surgery after being injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Afghanistan in 2010.

The former British Army staff sergeant adds bronze to the Paralympic bronze he won last year.

England's defenders Geva Mentor and Layla Guscoth are combining to devastating effect in the netball.

Mentor leaps off-court to try and keep the ball in and Guscoth is there to scoop it up.

The result? Another England goal. Their lead is still at a comfortable (or as comfortable as you're going to get against world champions New Zealand) six goals.

Another excellent round from Delicious Orie, who is scrapping smart and superbly.

The Englishman is light on his feet and dominating with his jab.

Paul, a bronze medallist at last year's World Championships remember, can't get near him!

Again, all five judges have Orie winning the second round.

One more to go and Paul has to land big.

England's Andy Pozzi on his dive for the line to win a bronze medal: "It's been such a tough season and I just haven't quite got on top of things. That was just all heart. It is the crowd that gives us that energy. I drove for the line and just about got there.

"I have experience but you have to make it pay. I am moving so well but just not getting those finer points.

"I was just desperate to get there.

"That medal was needed. People probably don't understand the toll the past few years have had on athletes. It's just great to race in front of a home crowd."

Lawrence Okoye's final attempt doesn't come out of his palm quite right.

But he is secure in silver. A first international medal for the 30-year-old, who appeared at London Olympics a decade ago...

Delicious Orie is one of the poster boys for this Games, having learned his craft in a gym in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

Orie, 25, is not the favourite against 33-year-old Paul, but he starts strongly by flicking out some quick jabs.

Paul, who is the heavier despite both men standing 6ft 6in, looks a bit stunned.

Quality and confident by Orie.

What do the judges think? A clean sweep of the cards in favour of Orie from the all five.

There's a massive cheer from the crowd inside the NEC in the powerlifting final.

Has a medal been decided already?

Nope. Uganda's Dennis Mbaziira has finally managed a successful lift after two failed attempts, one of which was chalked off because his coach was standing in the way.

The 37-year-old's third go was 162kg, which gives him a points score of 103.5 and moves him up to sixth place.

England suddenly look like they're in a different league to New Zealand at the netball.

Goal attack Helen Housby can't miss. The mid-court players are getting their mits on everything.

Jamaica's Rasheed Broadbell is a beautifully smooth hurdler. That is always going to be one of the things you beg for in high hurdles. This young man was out sharp and kept his rhythm going.

England's Lawrence Okoye was briefly usurped by Jamaica's Traves Smikle, but the former American Football star plucks a 64.99m effort out the bag to regain silver-medal spot.

One throw to go. Australia's Matthew Denny leads with 67.24m.

What a start from England in the third quarter!

Two swift intercepts and all of a sudden they're 30-25 up. At one point, New Zealand had tied the game at 25-25. Nice work.

Time for a late-night Delicious treat.

Let's see if English super-heavyweight Orie can leave the Brum crowd licking their lips at his performance.

His opponent Nigel Paul, from Trinidad and Tobago, skips out to the ring first before the crowd-o-meter zips north for Orie's arrival.

Interesting... Jo Harten has come on at goal shooter for England, replacing starting goal shooter Eleanor Cardwell.

Harten has strapping on her knee but that won't stop her from playing apparently.

Other than that England remain unchanged, with Laura Malcolm having come on at wing defence for Stacey Francis-Bayman during the the second quarter.

The chants of England are loud from the crowd and the Roses reward them with a goal to stay ahead.

England's Liam McGarry is holding onto fifth place in this men's powerlifting final after completing a lift of 210kg to score 113.7 points.

Sudhir Sudhir of India is the man to beat with a total of 134.5 following his huge attempt of 212 kg.

Ikechukwu Obichukwu of Nigeria is keeping the silver medal spot warm, with Scotland's Micky Yule in the bronze position.
