    Women's doubles gold medal match

That is so unlucky for the English pair. Malaysia's Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan just had way too much for Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith - it's finished 21-5 21-8.

The match lasted just 33 minutes.

It's more disappointment for Smith, two silver medals in one day, a repeat of her haul four years ago in Australia.

Zach Wallace and Sam Ward from the England men's hockey team spoke to BBC Sport after winning their bronze medal match this morning.

Here's what they had to say:

On winning bronze, Wallace said: "The main feeling is just that we're really proud. Last night was a huge setback for us as we were so close to getting over the line. So to come out today and do this is an unbelievable feeling.

"It's the first medal for me at senior level and for a few of the other guys too so I think we've got a taste for that now!"

On what it means for the future of the team, Ward said: "I think there's big times ahead for these hockey boys.

"I might not be around to be a part of it but wow I think they're going to do some incredible things over the next five or six years."

    Women's doubles gold medal match

This is the second consecutive Commonwealth Games that England's Lauren Smith has been in two doubles finals - reaching the women's and doubles finals in Birmingham and the Gold Coast.

In 2018 she came away with two silvers and after losing the gold medal match in the mixed event this morning with partner Marcus Ellis she has already made it a third in three.

Is it going to be another disappointment for Smith? It's not looking good so far. Malaysia lead 5-3 in this second game.
