Houlden a little bit 'twiglet'published at 19:09 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's 3m springboard final

    Leon Taylor
Olympic diving silver medallist on BBC TV

I did not think I would be commenting on Jordan Houlden leading - but good for him.

This dive is so complicated you are rescued by the degree of difficulty. It is just a little bit twiglet as he goes in.

  3. diving

No gold for Laugherpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's 3m springboard final

There is to be no third gold medal of these Games for Jack Laugher.

Hunter-Spivey going for goldpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's singles class 3-5

Here we go - England's Jack Hunter-Spivey is going for gold in the men's para class 3-5 against Nigeria's Nasiru Sule.

Liverpool-born Hunter-Spivey won bronze in Tokyo and Sule won it in Atlanta in 1996 - that gives you an indication of the age difference - Hunter-Spivey is 27 and Sule is 54.

But they have already played each other in the group stage and Sule won that 11-9 in the fifth game. It's going to be a tight one.

The newly redeveloped Alexander Stadium is all whitewashed walls and shiny steel. But a bit of the old rickety place remains.

The salvaged sign from the pre-spruce era has been given a low-key slot in the stadium surrounds.

It feels like something from a 90s leisure centre next to the revamped venue.

We have seen Jack Laugher leave the door wide open. Sometimes younger divers think it is not for me to walk through that door. Let me tell you Jordan Houlden has bowled through that door. Wow.

Dear me will sum it up accurately. That take off from Laugher had nines written all over it and he was out a fraction too late.

The door has been swung right open.

I am delighted and a little bit surprised to be honest for Jordan Houlden. This dive, when it counts, is not to be sniffed at.

Really impressive from Dan Goodfellow - and that is the dive of the final so far

  20. diving

Goodfellow on the movepublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's 3m springboard final

Jordan Houlden is on the move. He attempts a tough-looking forward two 1/2 somersaults with three twists that brings 81.90.

    High risk, high reward.

Daniel Goodfellow attempts the same dive as his England team-mate - and it is good, it's brilliant, in fact, it scores 91.65!

    This final is hotting up.
