That was a rousing moment at Alexander Stadium as the crowd built up to Morgan Lake's jump at 1.92m. The claps built the tension, and a huge roar went up as she cleared it!

Not to be for her first attempt at 1.95m though.

Scotland's Louise Christie has just thrilled the crowd with a lively routine soundtracked by 'Can't Hold Us' by Ryan Lewis. I was tapping my foot along quite the thing, despite not really having all that much idea what was going on.

The judges seem to have been impressed by the 21-year-old from Aberdeen, too. She is second as it stands.

Smriti Mandhana's fine innings is over. The left-hander tries to scoop Nat Sciver to the leg-side boundary but lofts a simple catch to Issy Wong.

Two wickets in two overs and India have two new batters at the crease.

Mandhana made 61 off 32 balls with three sixes and has given her side a great platform.

A thrilling opening game as Malaysia's Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing take the first against England 22-20 in the badminton mixed doubles quarter-finals.

It was back and forth between the two teams but Malaysia come out on top as Callum Hemming and Jessica Pugh miss a game point.

Morgan Lake clears 1.92m!

And we're down to the final four in the competition.

She's joined by Australian favourite Eleanor Patterson and Jamaicans Lamara Distin and Kimberly Williamson.

But Lake is currently out of the medals on countback so she needs to clear the next height. We go to 1.95m.

Individual clubs final

England's Saffron Severn is up in the rhythmic gymnastics clubs final. She didn't qualify for the all-around individual final yesterday but was part of the team that took the bronze medal on day one of competition.

Can she secure a medal here in the individual event?

It's 25.450 - not as high as her qualification score and she looks a bit disappointed. Next up it's Scotland's Louise Christie.

There are six athletes still in play at 1.91m in the women's high jump final.

But none of them can clear that height on their opening attempt.

England are looking a bit shell-shocked and are ringing the bowling changes in a bid to break this partnership.

Freya Kemp is the next in line and she makes the breakthrough with a slower wide delivery that Shafali Verma lofts into the air and the catch is safely taken by Katherine Brunt.

England's Kiaran MacDonald cruises through to the final of the men's flyweight beating Wales' Jake Dodd by technical knockout.

European Championship silver medallist MacDonald will fight for a gold tomorrow.

Dodd will return to his day job as a plumber on Tuesday as a Commonwealth Games bronze medallist.

Earlier, Jamaica secured their place in the netball final with a 67-51 victory over New Zealand.

They will play either England or Australia on Sunday, with that second semi-final to come at 14:30 BST.

Christelle Lemofack came to Glasgow 2014 to represent Cameroon. She finished fourth. But she never went home.

Instead, she decided to seek asylum in Scotland. Eight years later, she is a permanent resident, has a daughter called Precious, and is competing at Birmingham 2022 for her adopted nation.

"I've made a family, a life, in Scotland and Scotland gave me an opportunity, so I feel like I have to give something back," the 31-year-old student tells BBC Sport Scotland. "I've dreamed about this and now it's come true. Now I have to fight for my flag."

She'll fight in a semi-final later on Saturday so a medal is very much within her grasp.

Another 80+ score for Jack Laugher and he's scraped through to tonight's final. Phew.

A very impressive final dive too from Scotland's James Heatly, marked 91.20. That's the highest score we've seen so far today. It catapults him up the standings into fourth.

Australia's Li Shixin qualifies top, with England's Dan Goodfellow in third. Scotland's Ross Beattie and England's Jordan Houlden also make it through to the final, which starts at 18:05 BST.

Unfortunately though, Scotland's Cameron Gammage won't be with them, missing out on the top 12.

There's no stopping Smriti Mandhana.

England captain Nat Sciver comes on but gets smashed for six.

Mandhana follows that up with a deft flick for four and she brings up her half century in the next over off just 23 balls.

Eight fours and two sixes - that's the fastest in the tournament so far.

How do England stop this?

England's Laura Zialor can't clear the bar on her third attempt at 1.89 and that is her competition over.

Morgan Lake went over with her first jump and we have six athletes through to the next height of 1.92m.

Issy Wong can't stem the flow of runs - Smriti Mandhana smashes her for six and then lofts another boundary over mid-on's head for four.

India's left-handed opener is in excellent form.

England will be chasing a very challenging total if this carries on.
