Men's doubles round of 16
The last badminton event of day eight involves Scotland's Alexander Dunn and Adam Hall, who are facing the Malaysian duo Chan Peng Soon and Tan Kian Meng.
Dunn and Hall took the first game 18-21 but in a 40-minute second tie, Chan and Tan survived four match points and came from 7-14 down to seal a 25-23 victory.
Game very definitely on in Hall 5 of The NEC!

The chasing pack are starting to close up a little bit on the leaders. And Lizzie Bird looks to be creating a bit of daylight between herself and Aimee Pratt.
Australia 1-1 India
We've got ourselves a shootout! Australia and India cannot be separated in the women's semi-final.
Incredible defending by India who hold firm. Who will be playing England in Sunday's final?

Dai Rich: Wow race over for gold/silver after 15 seconds or so?!
Women’s 3,000m steeplechase
They were running like they had a bus to catch over that first lap or so but it's calmed down a bit. Jackline Chepkoech and Peruth Chemutai remain a distance ahead but it's a steeplechase, not a sprint.

This is a gauntlet laid down - 67 seconds over the first lap is not a pace the front two can sustain. A wise decision from the pack to run at their own pace - which is still a fast pace.
Women’s 3,000m steeplechase
Good grief - they're running a different race! Jackline Chepkoech and Peruth Chemutai clear off from the start and lead by, ooof, must be 60-70m inside the first 65 seconds...
Women’s 3,000m steeplechase
The crowd has thinned out a touch thanks to some rather, dare I say it, autumnal weather this evening. We've got a runner in gloves. That 38C scorching seems a while ago now...
Huge ovation for Elizabeth Bird and Aimee Pratt of England as this crazy old race gets under way.
Women's 3,000m steeplechase (21:42 BST)
Uganda's Peruth Chemutai didn't win a senior race in 2021 apart from the one that mattered most - at the Olympic Games.
Her Tokyo gold was the first Olympic medal of any colour in any sport for a Ugandan woman.
Now she is aiming to add a Commonwealth medal to her CV, but finished 11th at the recent World Championships.
Kenyan teenager Jackline Chepkoech won the world under-20 title in Nairobi last summer, while compatriot Celliphine Chespol preceded her as the best junior in the world,
However, Chespol is still rebuilding her career after being knocked down by a bus last year and missing the Olympics as a result.
The British challenge is led by English pair Aimee Pratt and Lizzie Bird, with Northern Ireland's Eilish Flanagan also on the start line.
Decathlon

Actually that gutsy run from Harry Kendall might have brought the loudest cheer of the night as he battled to second place in the decathlon 1500m.
After nine gruelling events he still has to sprint the final 100m!
That's a hard two days over - a creditable sixth place finish for the Englishman in his first major international competition.
Decathlon 1500m
Steve Backley
Two-time world javelin silver medallist on BBC TV
Absolutely delighted for Lindon Victor - he is exhausted though. It's a typical scene at the end of a decathlon.
Men's decathlon
We told you this event has been thrilling and it did not fail to deliver at the end.
Grenada's defending champion Lindon Victor needed to stay within about 23 seconds of Australia's Daniel Golubovic in the 1,500m, which is the final event, to seal gold.
Golubovic crosses first and then turns to see the 16-stone Victor tramming down the straight, with his teeth clenched and legs pumping.
It's a big effort, but will it be enough? Victor collapses to the track, breathing and groaning heavily.
He's done it! Incredible.
Men's T53/54 1500m
England's Nathan Maguire on winning gold: "The fact we are here on the same stage as the able-bodied guys is massive. When I was growing up there was no representation or TV coverage of any para sport so the fact we are on primetime TV, showing the kids what they could be in the future, that's so important."
Australia 1-1 India
GOOOALLLLLL!
India have equalised with 10 minutes left through Vandana Katariya.
Incredible scenes. Australia have created loads of chances but they have been pegged back.
This women's semi-final is on a knife edge.
Women's triple jump
Halfway through the women's triple jump final and the hosts are on course for a medal.
After three jumps, England's Naomi Metzger remains third with a personal best of 14.37m.
Jamaica's Shanieka Ricketts is well out in front after setting a new Games record with a jump of 14.94m.
Men's 400m semi-finals
England's Matthew Hudson-Smith on qualifying for the final in first place: "It was cold and a messy run but the job was to get through to the final and I have done that.
"The first 50m was not that good, my legs were all over the place. I am still a bit tired from Eugene but the crowd lifted me and I can't complain.
"I want to end the year with three medals. I started off on the right track in Eugene and now it is part two."
Men's 400m semi-finals
Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV
That was a really good qualification from Matt Hudson-Smith. You are not seeing those great times but that is everything he would have wanted.
Men's 400m semi-finals
Does this make England's Matthew Hudson-Smith the favourite for gold in Sunday's final?
It might do, you know. He goes through as the fastest semi-finalist.
Barbados' Jonathan Jones will have other ideas, of course.
