Rather aptly as the pyrotechnics burst into life, Delicious Orie walks out to 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy.

Let's see who the punkin' instigator is.

    Ding ding!! We're under way...

There should be a fourth set of medals handed out after each 4x400m relay for the poor officials. They oversee changeover choas, herding three twitchy multi-lingual, ultra-competitive groups of runners onto the startline in some kind of order every 45 seconds or so.

And then have to collect the batons from the finishline crowd scene, with bodies strewn everywhere and emotions on edge.

Not only does Delicious Orie have an eye-catching name, he has the talent to match.

His backstory is also worth reading about.

The 25-year-old, who is of mixed Russian and Nigerian heritage, was born in Moscow before moving to England aged seven as the family looked to escape the racism they were suffering in Russia.

Orie moved to Wolverhampton with his family and went on to study at Birmingham’s Aston University where he received a first class Economics degree.

"I was born in Moscow and life was harder out there," Orie told BBC Sport last year.

"We didn't have a lot of money and some people didn't like me purely because of the colour of my skin.

"I was seven when we moved to the UK and although it was difficult because I didn't speak the language and there were cultural differences, I could see there were more opportunities for kids to succeed."

    Men's super-heavyweight gold medal bout

Last, but certainly not least, it's the men's super heavyweight final.

Bringing the curtain down on Birmingham 2022 will be England's Delicious Orie - one of the poster boys of the Games.

The 25-year-old has been dubbed by some as the new Anthony Joshua and takes on India's Sagar Sagar (so good they named him twice?).

The noise inside the NEC Arena is going to be incredible.

Jamaica reduce Australia's leadpublished at End of first quarter

    Jamaica 12-14 Australia

    Becky Grey
    BBC Sport at NEC Arena

Jamaica are struggling to find a way through Australia's defence.

They hang around in the mid-court for a while, trying to piece the puzzle together.

The answer? Shooter Jhaniele Fowler of course.

A long ball in to their star player and they get the ball down. She scores another buzzer-beater soon after and that's Australia's lead down to two as the first quarter comes to an end.

It's fair to say I haven't spent many Sunday nights at the beach volleyball - but that all changes tonight!

The bronze medal match between New Zealand and Vanuatu has just gone to a deciding set.

There's a really great atmosphere down here at Smithfield - and a very strong smell of beer in the air...

    Jamaica 7-12 Australia

    Becky Grey

Australia lost in the group stage to Jamaica, but they don't look keen for a repeat of that in this gold-medal netball match.

The three-time champions have opened up a five-goal lead against the first-time finallists.

Jereem Richards ran the last leg like running indoors. He knew he had enough in the home straight as well. This is lovely, he's a beautiful-looking runner. What a championship for him after his gold in the 200m.

It's a tight start at the netball.

Australia get the first turnover, but Jamaica soon get things back level. We've only had five minutes and it's such an entertaining final, with both defences making life hard for the shooters.

Jamaica must back up big winpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 7 August 2022

    Jamaica v Australia (20:30 BST)

    Becky Grey
    BBC Sport at NEC Arena

Jamaica have already beaten Australia once at these Games, in the group stage.

It was their first win against Australia at a major event, but pulling that off twice in a week against a side used to dominating world netball will be, to put it extremely lightly, challenging.

They've definitely got the crowd behind them here though.

If you're just dipping into netball, keep an eye out for Jamaica shooter Jhaniele Fowler and Australia shooter Gretel Bueta. They don't tend to miss.
