A member of the Ferrari crew has just hit the deck ushering Charles Leclerc out of the garage. He jumps up with a smile on his face, but I think that must have hurt a little.
RB's Yuki Tsunoda, meanwhile, has bolted on a set of mediums and climbed up to third on the timesheets with a 1:17.834.

That Constructors' [Championship] battle is really heating up, just eight points Ferrari are behind Red Bull and then McLaren are still with that advantage of 40 points up ahead, but this is a three-way fight.

I think everyone is going to be nervous about getting a lap in, with everybody slowing down in Sector Three, it's going to be really really tricky for people to get a clean lap in.
It is already tricky enough to do a lap round this circuit, it's very dusty and it's low grip.

I think Colapinto is a cause of a lot of headaches for drivers and teams up and down the grid because he is the guy who has come in and been a surprise, not only his performance but also off the track as well, he's incredible marketable and lucrative.
Now there's talk of bringing back a race in Argentina again, to have that kind of power, he can't just be a reserve driver next year.

Nico Hulkenberg has called in to Haas to say his brakes aren't feeling too peachy today. In fact, "they feel numb". Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz has improved his opening soft lap time to pull out 0.169 seconds on his team-mate Charles Leclerc.

Norris is looking very very comfortable on the apex kerbs at Turn Two and Turn Three. He's able to take a lot of kerb at Turn Three, something that the Red Bull normally can't do.

With the door closed on McLaren's request to review that Austin penalty, Lando Norris knows the task of ahead of him is making up 57 points with 146 still available. The Briton's first timed lap on the softs awarded him third on the timesheets, but on his next attempt, he runs wide at Turn Seven and has to correct his little mishap.

McLaren look good in the middle sector but Ferrari look stronger generally in the final sector in the slow speed, I don't know whether that's purely just slow speed grip, or if they are holding onto their tyres a little bit bit longer.

Liam Lawson has come to a stop in the RB. The New Zealander found himself in a spot of bother at the stadium section after getting on the kerb at Turn 14. He's managed to put his car back round the right way and carries on with his lap.

It's all good and well the floor working well in a straight line but it needs to work well when it's under strain on your mid-corner and it's there that it becomes very very tricky.

The festivities will no doubt be joyful tomorrow when Fernando Alonso reaches the landmark of his 400th race in Formula 1. The Aston Martin driver is on the soft compound, along with his team-mate Lance Stroll, and the pair were sitting in the top five, but now they have been pushed down the order thanks to quick laps by Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz on the same rubber. Spaniard Sainz is 0.064 seconds faster than his US GP winner Leclerc.
Formula 1’s governing body is to revise its racing guidelines following a meeting with drivers at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
The move comes after drivers questioned the decision to penalise Lando Norris following a controversial incident with Max Verstappen in Austin.
The FIA said in the drivers’ briefing in Mexico on Friday, sources in the meeting have told BBC Sport, that it would come up with revised wording to cover the specifics of the incident and present it to the drivers for approval later this season.
The FIA did not give details as to what would change, but the admission came in the context of a discussion about the tactics Verstappen had employed to keep his position and whether he should have been penalised.
The meeting was described as "civilised" by one source. A spokesperson for the FIA said it was "collaborative".

While Max Verstappen makes his way back to the pits, George Russell goes for a first timed lap on the C5 soft compound. He's running the older spec in Mexico, but that doesn't mean he can't find some pace. Russell crosses the line and hits a 1:18.284 to jump above Max Verstappen on the timesheets.
