"It was a return to the old Cook today. He was leaving the ball well until he got out. It is normally a sign of a slow, low pitch when you have players chopping on which we have here."
Joe Root, who won't have faced a lot of leg-spin in his nascent international career, is in watchful mood against Bishoo - he plays out a cautious maiden.
Dan Goodman: Cook averages 52 in his last five Tests. I'll leave that with you.
Alex Beetles: Did Alastair Cook survive while I rushed home from work? No. No he did not.
Jack Allum: This is why the scoring is too negative - we lose wickets any way and have not got many runs on board.
Shannon Gabriel gets a rest after that penetrating spell and the cherry is handed to Kemar Roach. Can he replicate his fellow seamer's success on a wicket that is slower than an hour discussing sofa patterns with your mother-in-law? He begins with a tidy over that sees Root add just one run to the total.

"The West Indies have been on top since lunch, this is what they will have spoken about in the dressing room and if they get another wicket soon they will feel like that are right back in this match."
Bishoo spinning the ball handily here, getting more revs than a well-attended clergical convention. Ballance plays out a watchful maiden from the Guyanese twirler.
RedAllOver: 220 all out anyone?
Matt Temple: Here comes our collapse.
Lou Osman: Go to make a cup of tea 2 wickets fall. Apologies, I won't leave the room again.
Is this an opening for West Indies? A couple more wickets here and they could really be in business.
The new man is Joe Root, who chopped on twice in Antigua. He can't say he's not been warned. You have to choose your cross-bat shots judiciously on this wicket - and that's a good one from Root, laying into a really wide ball from Gabriel and flaying it for two courtesy of a misfield from Bishoo.

"The West Indies have come back well after lunch. Some people would have questioned Shannon Gabriel coming on but he has done well. It will do his confidence some good. He is not a regular member of the squad - he is only in because of Taylor's injury - but he has got two wickets and batted really well yesterday."

"It is the sort of wicket you see quite a lot on slow pitches. It was a similar dismissal to Cook's."
It's deja vu all over again. Bell tries to cut Shannon Gabriel though point and ends up under-edging it onto his timbers. Just like his skipper. A brief look of squinty incredulity, a rueful shake of the head, and Bell is on his way.
Devendra Bishoo keeps tossing it up, trying to tempt Gary Ballance into a loose stroke, but the batsman plays it well, getting low to smother the spin, and then picking his moment to drive one crisply through extra cover for two.
Andrew Samson
BBC Test Match Special statistician
"Alastair Cook's run without a century is now the second longest for an England opener. Only Mike Brearley (41) has waited longer."
Thomas Bonser: Ahh Cookie I feel for you big guy! Really wanted to see him get that ton! Let's hope that score does him the world of good.
David Sowden: Shame for Cook, but if it means we can crack on and try and win the Test Match then I'm not overly disappointed.
Sean Edwards: Turn TMS on Cooky chops on to his wickets. TMS off!
You have to feel for Cook, who has compiled some good scores in recent times, but that statistic of no Test centuries since May 2013 just keeps hanging heavily round his neck like Kemar Roach's jangly gold medallion. Good reward for Gabriel though, who has toiled away on this unresponsive wicket. Ian Bell joins Gary Ballance at the crease - both centurions in the last Test, of course.
Ed Smith
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
"When I was watching him bat it was like I was just watching Cook and not thinking about whether he was playing well or not."
Geoffrey Boycott
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special
"It was not a bad shot it looked a little ungainly. The ball was not there to cut but he has played quietly nicely so has Trott and touchwood that is the beginning of the turnaround. He got 76 runs for a batsman that is priceless. I watched very carefully his footwork and him playing straight, he has played well."
Oh Alastair. The stars seemed to be aligning for the England captain's 26th Test century, but once again we see that familiar head-bowed trudge back to the pavilion instead. Classic slow-pitch dismissal this, trying to cut one that just moves back from Gabriel and dragging it on to the stumps.
Bishoo is a big spinner of the ball, but that doesn't help him when he pitches it in the wrong places - too leg-sidish again, and Cook, growing confidence throughout this gritty innings, sweeps hard and finds the boundary at backward square leg.
