There's been a serious error of judgment. Bad light happens in cricket, we get issues like this, but I've never known it to happen in such an important domestic match as this.

The ground staff have been despatched to bring the covers on - are they expecting rain as well as bad light? Still very gloomy, and I can't believe they're going to play again tonight.

It's a disappointing end but the umpires have got to think of the safety of the players at the end of the day. I just think we're at that time of year where the nights draw in that little bit earlier.

They're starting to play things on the TV sets around the ground almost as though the game is over and they're just trying to entertain the crowd to keep them here.

The umpires are in the middle having a chat at the moment. If you're new to Twenty20 cricket you're probably thinking 'What is this all about?'

Huge boos ring out from the crowd as it's announced Worcestershire will go out on Duckworth-Lewis if there is no further play. Some of the supporters are starting to leave now.

It may be a tad lighter now, but maybe our eyes are just getting used to the dark. I'm not sure they'll be able to get back out in this. A PA announcement just said that unless the light improves we won't be carrying on.

You have to remember it's mid-August now. Last night it was dark at 20:30 BST. I'm surprised this game didn't start at 17:00 BST or floodlights weren't brought in. The sell out crowd will go mad when this is announced. Every other quarter final has had floodlights, so why not this one?

Only an improvement in the light - which looks unlikely at this stage - can save Worcestershire from elimination on Duckworth-Lewis. The umpires are still out in the middle, but the home side's T20 campaign may have just ended - not with a Blast, but with a whimper.

It's taken Chris Wood getting hit on the nose for the umpires to take them off. They've pushed the boundaries and now something has forced them to go off.

It's increasingly dingy here at New Road. The light must be a factor as Worcestershire seem to have one or two problems getting bat on ball when the speedy Fidel Edwards charges in from the Diglis End. But we're through five overs so a match is constituted with no need for a reserve day - and with the home side behind on Duckworth-Lewis at this stage, they must grin and bear it. If the umpires took them off now, Hampshire would win.

He was comfortably out - he wasn't in camera shot, as you might say. And Ross Whiteley is on his way to the middle now, so Worcestershire have juggled around with their batting order.

If you were playing a four-day game you would be off the field by now for the light. Maybe starting an hour earlier would've been the right idea, but I guess that's in hindsight.

James Vince's international career, so far, consists of one rain-affected ODI in Ireland, in which he was not required to bat or bowl, although he captained the England Lions one-day side in South Africa last winter. With 107 not out off 65 balls (a maiden T20 century) under the spotlight today, and now the top-scoring Englishman in this competition, has he made a convincing case for selection in the England limited-overs squads to face Australia after the Ashes? Worcestershire's hopes may rest on another man bidding for a place in that squad - Moeen Ali - who they need to fire at the top of the order if they are to chase 197.

James Vince has just fallen over scooping Jack Shantry for four, but with that shot, he has overtaken Sam Northeast as the highest-scoring Englishman in this year's T20 Blast. Only Gloucestershire's overseas player, Australia's Michael Klinger has scored more.

James Vince is batting quite beautifully. Hampshire will be very pleased with their position, I would think, while Worcestershire have plenty of work to do.
