Stokes continues. The barrage of bumpers continue. Ooh, did Morkel glove that down the leg side? Nope. He survives a muted appeal.
There might have been some sort of message sent down to the batsmen at the end of that Anderson over. Is the declaration imminent?

That ninth-wicket partnership was worth 82 in 26 overs. No wonder England's overriding emotion after the wicket was relief rather than joy. Morne Morkel is the new man, described by one of my colleagues as the best number 11 in world cricket.

Finally! Stokes makes the breakthrough and Piedt's doughty innings is over. Trying to force one that is too close to him and bounced more than he expected, he edges behind. Bairstow, for once, holds on to the catch in front of his face. Stokes' celebration is muted, to say the least.
Anderson manages to limit South Africa to a couple of singles off the over, but it says much about England's plight that that represents some sort of success. At what point do South Africa think about declaring?
