Umpire Alex Wharf told Sky Sports: "We've just let [the captains] know that we're abandoning it [for the day]. It's a saturated outfield, wet in areas. So we'll come back tomorrow. It's probably the best for both teams. The ground staff have been fantastic. They got rid of a lot of water but there's obviously still a lot of wet areas."

Unsurprisingly, the outfield's still saturated in places. They're going to come back again tomorrow for a full game on the reserve day.

Umpires now chatting to the captains. Is this a "we're calling it" moment, or a "we're going to try to squeeze in a 20-over thrash" moment?

If you're not aware, England really, really need to get on the field this week - although they have games in hand in the ICC Women's Championship,, external they need to win them if they're to finish in the top four of the table and qualify automatically for the World Cup which they host next summer. The other teams will compete in a 10-team qualifier early in 2017.
