With six out of the eight teams in the quarters having never won the T20 title, is this the year a new champion is crowned?

Northants, victorious in 2013, and Middlesex, winners in 2008, square off on Tuesday, so three of the teams at Finals Day will be looking for their maiden trophy.

Who do you think will win the 2016 competition? Can Yorkshire transfer their four-day success into the shortest format?

Jamie Vardy, Alex Hales, what's the difference? They're both heroes in the East Midlands.

The Nottinghamshire and England opener is missing tonight as he prepares for the fourth Test at The Oval which starts on Thursday, but he still had a good luck message for his county colleagues...

    Notts v Essex (18:30 BST)

The news from the middle is that Essex have won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Nottinghamshire hand a debut to seam bowler and handy lower-order batsman Luke Wood, while Jake Ball, Imran Tahir and Harry Gurney complete a formidable looking bowling lineup.

Essex are boosted by the return of skipper Ravi Bopara, who missed the County Championship game against Sussex through illness.

Big-hitting New Zealander Jesse Ryder is also fit for the Eagles following a calf injury, while Paul Walter comes in for the injured Matt Quinn.

Notts: Lumb, Wessels, Smith, Christian (c), Patel, Mullaney, Read, Wood, Ball, Tahir, Gurney.

Essex: Browne, Ryder, Westley, Lawrence, Bopara (c), Zaidi, ten Doeschate, Foster, Napier, Masters, Walter.

Notts came closest to lifting some T20 silverware in 2006 when they were beaten by three-time champions Leicestershire in the final. Cue a picture of a baby-faced Chris Read...

Another Finals Day appearance came in 2010 when they went out at the semi-final stage, followed by four straight knockouts in the quarter-finals including a home defeat by Essex in 2013.

For the Eagles, victory this evening would earn them a fifth Finals Day place - but their record in the showpiece occasion isn't great.

Four appearances, four semi-final defeats. Pressure? Just a bit!
