    Evans lbw b Batty 9 (Sussex 63-1 v Surrey)

Laurie Evans has been hit on the hip and given out lbw!

It's extraordinary. Evans tries to ramp Gareth Batty over the keeper's head, misses and the ball strikes him bang in front of the stumps and up goes the finger. Crazy.

Salt goes for 27 off 10 balls.

  13. 6 runs

Well well, that's an eventful first over!

Surrey spring a surprise by opening with medium-pacer Will Jacks, but Phil Salt skies his second ball and Tom Curran can't hang on to a difficult chance at mid-off.

Salt does connect this time though - two pull shots - one for four the other for a big max. Great start for the Sharks.
