Plenty of rotating the strike in that over as England add another six to the total.

England coach Chris Silverwood is stood at the changing room door looking at the scoreboard and clock. Are England going to have a dart at the Windies tonight?

I don't want to say the wheels are falling off for West Indies because that's harsh but their fielding in this innings hasn't been good enough.

It's Jermaine Blackwood again as he fails to claw back a Joe Root sweep. He got there so really should be pulling that back.

Root has got a run-a-ball 34 at the moment.

Rachel T: This is why Test cricket is the very best form of the game. It can yo-yo between grinding Test, pacier ODI or go full-blown T20 at any point.

Spin from both ends as Roston Chase comes on. England won't mind that I don't think. They'll have to generate their own pace but it might mean we get all 23 overs in.

More excellent stuff from Joe Root as he reverse sweeps for four more. Rahkeem Cornwall, at slip, tried to read it but Root just did him on the inside instead.

Root brings it out again later in the over and picks up another couple.

Good over for England, nine off it.

    Oh! It was out!

Rahkeem, Rahkeem, you should've reviewed it.

Oh! West Indies should have Rory Burns back in the pavillion.

Rahkeem Cornwall darts one in and it raps Burns on the pad but it looks like it's sliding down the leg side so Richard Kettleborough says no.

With captain Jason Holder off the field, after experiencing some ankle pain, the Windies decide against the review but Hawkeye shows it's crashing into leg stump. A missed opportunity for the Windies.

There are still, in theory, 23 overs in the day.

Light-permitting we can play till 18:33 so we'll probably lose a few but England could add another 75+ runs if they bat till close.

England have been more positive since tea. They've scored at 4.24 runs an over in the 17 we've had since the interval.

They lead by 330. How long will they keep going for?

Beautifully controlled by Joe Root. Jason Holder didn't get away with a short ball this time.

Good stuff by Joe Root again.

He was starting to get frustrated by the leg-side tactics that Jason Holder has deployed but he swivel pulls nicely to the fence.

That'll be drinks. England have scored 72 in 17 overs since tea.

It's looking pretty bright, at the moment, John.

The scheduled close is 18:03 BST today as we look to make up an over and five balls that we lost yesterday. Light permitting we'll take the extra half an hour to get in as many of the remaining 24 overs as we can.

I still think Joe Root would like his side to have a bowl tonight if possible.

  17. Eng 152-1published at 48 overs

Rory Burns is in his T20 mode now.

He picks up a well-run two with a conventional sweep before a looping reserve sweep trickles away for four more.

Burns hadn't played a single sweep in the series before this Test but he's swept nine times in this game. He's clearly working on how to play against spin.

Ten off the over for England and that cancels out the maiden.

  18. Eng 146-1published at 47.1 overs

    Lovely from Rory Burns again.

He comes down the track and flicks perfectly through mid-wicket for another boundary.

He's accelerated a bit since reaching his half-century.

I think England will bat through until the end of the day and get a lead of about 370.

Then they can wait and see if the rain falls tomorrow before deciding about declaring.

  20. Eng 142-1published at 47 overs

Right on cue Joe Root plays out a maiden.

It's good stuff from his opposite number Jason Holder, though, he knows Root is dangerous so he's just looking to dry him up.
