  1. Bad light stops play at Headingleypublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

    Yorkshire (252) lead Leicestershire (124 & 78-5) by 50 runs

Very, very gloomy in Leeds now even under the floodlights.

The players are coming off for now with 16 overs still technically to be bowled in the day.

Leicestershire 78-5 in their second innings, which means they are still 50 runs shy of making Yorkshire bat again.

  2. Stumps at New Roadpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200 & 58-2) need 187 more runs to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

    Yep that's close in Worcester.

Somerset need eight wickets tomorrow to reach the final at Lord's.

Worcestershire should be there if they put on another 187.

Tom Lammonby's super innings at New Road is also record-breaking.

The 20-year-old becomes the youngest player in Somerset's history to carry his bat.

We're still off for bad light by the way. We're expecting stumps to be called shortly.

Alea: If Worcs and Derby BOTH win - is it not a 3 way tie on 90 points for all group winners?

As I see it Alea, a series of tie-breakers will come into play in this order:

Most wins, fewest losses, the result between the sides in the group stage, most wickets taken, most runs scored.

But we're emailing our pals at the ECB for clarification.

    Notts 422 v Durham 294 & 108-1

Durham are marching towards Nottinghamshire lead. They're only 20 runs behind now.

Sean Dickson has just brought up his half century, while Michael Jones looks comfortable on 21.

It's a flat track at Trent Bridge. Notts remember are chasing a first red-ball win in over two years.

  7. Bad light stops play at New Roadpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

    Worcestershire (200 & 47-2) need 245 to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

No sooner has Tom Fell pulled away a lovely four, we're off.

It's looking gloomy, I don't think we'll be coming back.

    Yorkshire (252) lead Leicestershire (124 & 53-5) by 75 runs

And another Leicestershire wicket falls in the Headingley gloom.

Matt Fisher has Harry Swindells caught behind with a beauty of an away-swinger that squares him up and takes a fine outside edge.

Leicestershire still 75 runs shy of parity with only five wickets in hand.

    Lancashire 219 & 202-2 v Derbys 195

Keaton Jennings goes after toe-ending a reverse sweep to Billy Godleman off Matthew Critchley for 81.

    That's Critchley's 150th wicket for Derbyshire.

No smiles amongst the fielders right now though. Its been Lancashire's day at Aigburth.

    Worcestershire (200 & 47-2) need 245 to beat Somerset (251 & 193)

We've got 15 overs left at New Road before close of play but I don't think we're going to get all of them in.

    The light is fading fast.

Tom Fell is on 14 and Jack Haynes is on five.

  13. Make that seven down now for Sussexpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

    Surrey (388) trail Sussex (415 & 59-7) by 86 runs

Four wickets now for Surrey's slow left-armer Dan Moriarty!

George Garton the latest to come and go cheaply for just one, leg before.

    Moriarty with 4-43 now.

Leicestershire lose another wicket in their second innings as Essex loanee Rishi Patel gifts his scalp away with a cut shot straight to cover.

Leicestershire still 81 runs behind making Yorkshire bat again.

    Lancashire 219 & 191-6 v Derbys 195

    Keaton JenningsImage source, Rex Features

Any chance of a Derbyshire victory seems incredibly unlikely now.

Lancashire have to 191-1 with Keaton Jennings not out on 74 and lead by 215.

Earlier, fellow opener Alex Davies fell for a bullish 86.

Derbyshire need to win and hope results go their way to keep their hopes of reaching the final at Lord's alive.

  17. Spin doing the business at The Ovalpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 8 September 2020

    Surrey (388) trail Sussex (415 & 47-5) by 74 runs

A couple of wickets for Amar Virdi to go with Dan Moriarty's three at the top of Sussex's order have reduced the visitors to 47-5 in their second innings.

After two high-scoring first innings, that match has suddenly taken on a different complexion.

Yorkshire pick up three early Leicestershire wickets in their second innings.

Hasan Azad and Harry Dearden the latest to fall caught down the legside and off an outside edge off Jordan Thompson for 11 and 18 respectively.

Just to remind you, Yorkshire's hopes of making the final are over after failing to make 400 in their first innings earlier.

Ian Bell out for 90 in final first-class game

Hugh Flaxman: In his home village of Dorridge, Bell is an absolute legend. Often seen in the local cricket club or supermarket and up for a chat. Such a decent, down to earth bloke. So many of that 2005 Ashes team were really good blokes, but Belly was the pick of the lot.
