  5. 'Today wasn't our day'published at 22:21 British Summer Time 16 July 2021

England captain Eoin Morgan: "When you look at the chase the huge positive is only one of us got going and we were right in the game until the second last over. Today wasn't our day. Pakistan bowled well and put our bowlers under pressure. I thought there were a lot of positives but the execution wasn't as good as we would have liked.

"Trent Bridge is one of the most difficult wickets to bowl in the world. It is good to be under pressure like we were today."

On Liam Livingstone's hundred: "It was an incredible knock. The biggest compliment I could pay him is our changing room has watched some incredible knocks from Roy or Buttler or Ali and that knock was as good as any of them. He was incredible."

England too cavalier in their batting approach. No point in smashing everything whilst losing wickets.
