    Wagner is tempting Root, like the wafting scent of cake to me when I supposed to be eating healthily. Root ignores the ball outside off.

    The way that Joe Root has played is a lesson to Zak Crawley. Crawley played a really high-risk shot, early in his innings, and as a number three you have to understand that it's very rare that you can go out and play pure strokes on a regular basis.

    Hello! Spinner Mitchell Santner has just bowled a throat-high beamer to Joe Root. Someone a startled Root gets some pat on the ball to protect himself and add a couple more runs. Wicketkeeper BJ Watling looks at Santner as if to say "what was that?!"

    The England skipper, clearly unnerved, puts away his trademark back-foot chop at the end of the over. It's another good one for England.
