Rowan Atkinson was watching his son play against my school. He didn't have much patience for the incessant Mr Bean impressions.

That is the one place on the side of the hand that does break. The padding around there isn't great.

Rory Burns is flexing the fingers on his right hand. The ball has got him right on the side of it. I don't like the way he's holding that little finger...

    That exploded.

What's that hit?! Slightly short from Southee and it comes ballooning off the pitch, surprising Rory Burns who takes a thwack on gloves. He has no idea where the ball ends up and he's lucky it's dropped just short of an advancing Henry Nicholls.

That's hurt Burns, actually. Out comes the physio.

Drinks off, Tim Southee back on.

    Meanwhile, I still love this.

A very quiet, very sensible session for England so far. I approve.

This would be the third-highest successful chase in a Lord's Test. Only three times has a total in excess of 200 been pursued at the home of cricket.

England haven't lost the early wickets which could have put a halt to the chase from ball one. It has been a bit stodgy. If England are taking this chase seriously they might have to start being a little more proactive.

Colin de Grandhomme unfurls a terrific appeal for lbw against Dom Sibley, but after a brief meeting of minds, they decide against reviewing. High, maybe?

Our school team - Oakwood Comprehensive in Rotherham - had an indoor net at the Headingley cricket school one Saturday. In the net next door Devon Malcolm, Phil DeFreitas and Eddie Hemings were having a practice. DeFreitas bowled at some of us - he reckoned he got me LBW but it was miles outside off stump. All super friendly, but Hemmings drew the line and preferred to be left alone over his (enormous) lunch.

Poor from Tim Southee, angled down the leg side, and it's very easy for Rory Burns to help it on its way and beat a diving Neil Wagner on the boundary.

It's not been quite right from Southee so far.

Dom Sibley comes perilously close to chopping Colin de Grandhomme onto his stumps, before he ends the over with a tentative, flat-footed swish outside off stump.

Distracted by De Grandhomme's hair, perhaps. Understandable.
