Oval Invincibles captain Dane van Niekerk speaking to Sky Sports: "It’s a new tournament, we don’t really know what to expect,
but I think we would have bowled first. I’m still learning to rules, it’s
interesting but incredible to be a part of.
"We’re ready and raring to go. I’m
really excited to see our fast bowlers go together, Shabnim Ismail, Tash
Farrant and Marizanne Kapp."

Manchester Originals captain Kate Cross speaking at the toss: "We had a couple of warm-up games on Friday. I think I’ve
worked out the bowling – you can count the balls on one hand which is easier!
It’s been a long time coming, we’ve been doing a lot of talking about it and we
can’t wait to get out there now.
"It’s great to have a crowd in, we just want to inspire young
girls to pick up a bat or a ball."
