Colin de Grandhomme's haircut and my comparison to Toadfish from Neighbours (13:19) sent us scurrying to the picture agencies to find a photo of Jarrod Rebecchi. This is the only one we can find, but he's in there... somewhere! Can you spot Toadfish?

That's a fine delivery and a lovely take from Watling, but it wasn't off the bat!

  3. IndM 70-2published at 13:27 British Summer Time 19 June 2021

De Grandhomme finds a bit of movement off the seam, there's a noise and BJ Watling takes a fine one-handed grab to his left.

I jump out of my seat with a "got him" ... I'm wrong.

The ball flicked Kohli's back leg. Nevertheless, it's beautiful bowling, the shape and movement on point.

  4. England's eventful morningpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 19 June 2021

If you're just catching up with what's happened this morning, it's been a mixed one for England against India. They started well - removing Shafali Verma thanks to this wonderful catch from Katherine Brunt...

However, Punam Raut and Deepti Sharma, who scored a half-century on debut, chipped away at England's lead to the point they took lunch six runs in front.

Perhaps, crucially, however, Sophie Ecclestone struck with the last ball before lunch to remove Sharma and leave India 171-3.

How about the winner of the World Test Championship faces a rest of the world XI?

Virat Kohli, batting out of his crease, clips Wagner off the pads for a single.

The drums have quietened down a tad, the Bharat Army on a bit of a post-lunch lull. I expect it to pick up soon.

Meanwhile, for those of you worried by Matt reporting spots of rain in Southampton, India and New Zealand are back out in the middle.

Pujara has now faced 30 balls without scoring, with Colin de Grandhomme bowling wicket to wicket. Maiden.

A lot has been made of Grandhomme's barnet. He reminds me of Toadfish from Neighbours. Is he still knocking about Ramsay Street?

That is a very strange shot to play given the circumstances. She had done so well throughout her innings. She's had a brain fade.

Deepti! What are you doing? Having batted so well throughout the morning, India's number three again tries to swap Ecclestone through the leg side but this time she plays on.

England with the breakthrough on the stroke of lunch.

India's middle order were woeful in the first innings but they've shown some real grit and determination here.

Oh Deepti Sharma, none of this seeing it through to lunch malarky as she wallops Ecclestone for a four through mid-wicket.

England fast bowler Olly Stone has been ruled out of the remainder of the summer and is a doubt for the Ashes after suffering a back stress fracture.

Stone, 27, last played in England's defeat in the second Test against New Zealand last week - his third Test.

The Warwickshire bowler's career has been hampered by injury, including two previous back stress fractures in 2019.

He will be assessed at the end of the season but is in a race against time to be fit for the Ashes in Australia.

Meanwhile, uncapped Sussex seamer George Garton has been called up to England's squad for the three-match one-day international series against Sri Lanka, starting on 29 June.

The left-armer, 24, was drafted into England's 2017-18 Ashes squad as cover but has never previously been in a squad or played an international.

All-rounder Ben Stokes, who broke his finger at the Indian Premier League in April, will return for Durham in the T20 Blast on Sunday but has not been included in the squad to play Sri Lanka.

England squad to play Sri Lanka: Eoin Morgan (Middlesex), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire), Sam Billings (Kent), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Sam Curran (Surrey), Tom Curran (Surrey), Liam Dawson (Hampshire), George Garton (Sussex), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), David Willey (Yorkshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham)
