Usman Khawaja will be on strike on 95.

Usman Khawaja made really good connection with that shot.
That area of the ground have had to pay particularly close attention to proceedings in this Test.
Now THAT is dismissive.
Usman Khawaja slogs Joe Root with aplomb and sends the ball about 15 rows back. Lovely - and it takes him into the nineties.

Just judging by the way Australia are batting you would think Pat Cummins is going to call an end to what you'd call a massacre pretty much as soon as Usman Khawaja reaches his century. The lead may be up near 400 by then.

Usman Khawja is racing towards another century - he's done a great rescue job since coming it with his side 86-4.

Green has done well with the ball in this series and now he's joined in with the bat. That was a nice way to go to your first Ashes half-century.
What a shot to get there!
Another thudding pull from Cameron Green off Mark Wood, and the all-rounder has a 96-ball Ashes half-century.

At 86-4 there just wasn't enough pushing to make something happen for England.
Lead by 344
In terms of Usman Khawaja, it seems to me that the most logical thing would be to have him open with David Warner. You can't drop him after this performance and Travis Head made 152 in the opening Test and is in good nick. Marcus Harris has been the only worrisome issue for Australia in this series, really.
Jim Maxwell

That was beautifully struck by Khawaja. This is a man in hot form.
Oh, I love Khawaja's reverse sweep.
He executes it to pinpoint perfection to dispatch Root for four.
Joe Root is trying to get the ball changed for one that Australia won't smack about quite so much.
He's failed.

This is a problem for the Australia selectors because it looks like Usman Khawaja is going to ton up in both innings. You would think they couldn't drop Travis Head and Cameron Green is starting to save himself and his bowling will be important with it being a night Test.
Lead by 338
England's batters have been feeling down since the first ball of the first day of the first Test, let's be honest.
More runs as Cameron Green drives a couple through the covers to take himself ever closer to a half-century.

England will be feeling deflated that Pat Cummins has the opportunity to declare whenever he wants. Their batters will be feeling down.
Four!
Cameron Green, such a tall man, stands even taller to pull Mark Wood's first delivery to the rope.

I reckon around 350. They will want two new balls because it does things here.
Alex Hartley

I do like to be on declaration watch but there has been no movement from the Australia changing room - they are all still in their training kit.
Ben Stokes' side is troubling him again. He's on his haunches, breathing in heavily to try and loosen it up.
Mark Wood is coming on for a bowl.
