It is almost identical to the way she got out in that first game. She looks to play the lap shot because there's no fielder there but it is good bowling from Alana King and captaincy from Meg Lanning.

It is just like what happened in the group game between these two!

    Dunkley b King 22 (Eng 179-5)

    Bowled round her legs!

Sophia Dunkley had been playing the sweep shot so, so well but ultimately it's been her downfall. Just one attempt too many and Alana King hits leg stump.

    She is ecstatic, Dunkley deflated.

  4. Eng 179-4published at 27.5 overs

Dunkley is bamboozled by some real turn from Alana King but the ball squirts off the edge for a single to bring up the 50 partnership between this pair.

If at the start of the day you'd say that Nat Sciver would make 70 from 70 balls you'd think that England had a chance of winning this game.

    Target 357

Short and wide from Megan Schutt and Dunkley latches on to it, thumping the ball over a leaping Rachael Haynes for a boundary.

    This is really tense.

What a rise for Alana King too. She wasn't in the Australia team at the start of the year and she's already won the Ashes and might be about to win a World Cup.

Here's how England's last wicket fell.

Some catch from Alana King, too.

  9. Eng 169-4published at 26 overs

Sciver and Dunkley sweep and paddle their way through an Alana King over that concedes seven.

The run-rate isn't out of hand by any stretch. This is far from over, as long as Nat Sciver is there.

    Thanks, Tim.

Now then. Is Nat Sciver going to do something special?

Halfway house, and I'm done - it's been a pleasure, but now here is Ffion Wynne to close out the innings.

That was a top effort from Meg Lanning.

She was like a goalkeeper, diving towards the top corner, and she just couldn't quite hang on.

We will never know if England's decision to bowl first was the right or wrong one. We don't know what would have happened if they'd done it the other way round.

  17. England 150-4published at 23.5 overs

Sophia Dunkley almost plays on to Alana King, it hits the bottom edge after an initial contact and it squirts out past off stump.

If England had been in this position in the first innings they wouldn't have been out of the game if they'd got to 260-270. They might have been able to squeeze in the second innings.

The sun drops quickly in that part of the world, doesn't it? Dark in Christchurch now, which may be a relief to the fans who were out in the sun all day.

It might be in a losing cause but Nat Sciver is standing up for England.
